Mathys Tel

The lazy parts of the media seem to be in agreement that the Savinho deal is done, but more importantly (if true) this indicates that RDZ isn’t wanting to tread water while waiting for promising players to develop, but instead wants ready-now players.

Interesting to see how this plays out with Moore.

No doubt Savino is option, and if he comes in, likely to start.

But we would still need a backup, Odobert is out till 2nd half of season, Moore is unknown and by some people's perspective not really a LW, there would have been some room for Tel. that said he himself has made noise that he wants to play, so maybe a mutual thing?

A lot depends on how he sees the #10 role. He could play Madders (and Xavi in 27/28) out there when Gallagher plays. Possible he sees Kulu as a #10 too…

I posted in the women's football thread that Tel shot the welcome video for the new record signing they've made, talking about the Spurs family.

Probably not the sort of thing he'd be eager to do if he knew he was being given the elbow or had been told to look for a new club.

There's no indication that Tel wants to go anywhere and for the coming season it appears he is not going to take a a non HG slot in the PL senior player squad as he still qualifies as youth so no reason to sell, same applies to Bergvall as an U21 but there have been bids for him so someone has put out feelers that he may be available.

Always been a big Tel fan. Just like his mentality and think he has some elite attributes. Hopefully he puts it all together this season.
Thing that impressed me from when he first arrived was his mentality as you say, and his ball striking technique. Both for crossing and shooting it's very good - of course still things to improve on, but at 21 that's natural.

Pretty confident we will look back in a couple of years time and say that £30m was money well spent....

I hope so. He has the physical tools and mental desire to succeed at a high level. If he can improve his decision-making in and around the box then he could become a top, top player.

The thing he needs most at this point is a functional club. It’s been a brickshow since he joined. We get things right overall and he’s going to be a star.

He looks a lot happier in general demeanor
