He is at the peak of his value and should Senesi and JPVH be signed he would be the 6th best CB at the club. His value is the peak it would be and we will probably get £30M for him.

If we sold Romero and Dragusin, and brought in JPVH, Senesi and Vuskovic, there is a solid business case to be made for selling Danso, especially with no European football next season.
It appears RDZ wants CBs who excel at progressing the ball and, notwithstanding his many positives, that is an area where Danso doesn’t particularly stand out.
I’m not advocating for Danso’s sale, but I do see the logic in the proposal. We could make a $40-50 mil profit to spend on difference-makers at the other end of the pitch.

6th best? VDV is not a better defender than Danso. Romero is comparable imo with Danso being more reliable. Vuscovic remains to be seen.

Doubt we would get that much but £30-£35M would work. Danso be unreal for a Sunderland.
Swapping out Romero, Danso, Dragusin, Phillips for £100M and getting JPVH, Senesi and Vuskovic back for £50M. Great stuff.

No chance JPVH goes for that with only one year left on his contract, especially if Guehi went for 25 mil.
By contrast, Romero has at least 3 years left, is in the prime of his career, is a WC winner and has a much higher profile.
