Ah yes. Yea he seems naturally right. He's scored a few scissor/bicycles with his right which would be bloody hard weaker foot!

Vuskovic is right footed but comfortable on his left.
Senesi is left footed but comfortable on his right.
Danso is right footed and uncomfortable on his left.
VDV is left footed and uncomfortable on his right.

It's because he doesn't see Levy's football acumen as a problem.

He thinks the only thing limiting Levy was funds available, not how he used the available funds.

Its actually been the opposite on here, most said we spent badly and needed to smarter, everyone else complained he was tight....

Its actually been a constant boring argument for 15 years TB

I see it as...

1) Romero has decided to go, and for the overall shape of the club going forward it has been decided to agree. I doubt DeZerbi wants anyone who is not 100% committed.

2) It allows Vuskovic to spend another year honing and developing; I suspect we'll take him back after next season. I did not know what you pointed out yesterday re: homegrown, and honestly? I look forward to having those problems again!!!

3) Let's see what else we do in the window.

I don't especially see this as asset-stripping TBH. I think given Romero's history with the PGMOL, reputation, and the waves of anger (IMO misdirected) towards him this season, he might well be ready to go elsewhere.

Let's face it, the window hsn't even opened yet and we're already predicting doom?!!!
I totally understand the cynicism (I am there in some ways myself) and we do have to see what they do this summer -the World Cup complicates certain things too.
I would be VERY surprised to see a big money signing of a World Cup player until post-tournament, quite simply because you want to be sure they come through unscathed injury-wise. What I am hopeful of is that we have a couple of these key WC player deals ready and 'on ice' to be signed immediately post-tournament (no player is going to deal with this now, that sort of move would've been made already and based on us staying up).
One of Levy's single biggest errors in transfer dealings IMO was that in his quest to save a couple of bob, he robbed managers of the ability to have a proper pres-season with their new signings. Poch repeatedly suffered that.

FWIW, I think this WC is going to break a few players.

(...takes a deep breath...) Levy's single biggest issues were timing, trying to chisel an extra 'bargain' out of a deal, and not paying the necessary wages to get the necessary players at the necessary times. And that is something some of us have consistently said re: transfer dealings since forever!

It's technically 2nd window, we did net spend of pretty much zero in Jan, and first deals all seem to be free/trade stuff.

We won't know until the end of the window, but I think more than ever we need a marquee signing to lift the team, we need to back the manager.

Let's see ..

I think it's the first window for a new manager. The Jan window relates to the previous season IMO. Backing the manager is the only important thing to me. Very often, 'marquee signing' is defined by price tag, which sadly is not accurate (I present Dom Solanke, a 35 million player who was outrageously over-priced because we were desperate, but hey, less than 100k a week)!

Let's see how things shape up. I think losing Porro would be an issue. I would like us to buy Alex Scott (not only is he attainable, he is a Spurs supporter so an extra 10% always) but that leaves us with big decisions regarding the likes of Bentancur and Sarr. If the rumours of Ramos from PSG hold any weight, I'd chuck the wages at him to convince him to duck the CL for a season as I think he could be amazing in this league. We definitely need a class left-winger.
I'd like one more traditional #10 too, as Madders should not play more than 20-25 games a season.

I am interested to see how De Zerbi intends to use Bergvall. I love Lucas, and can see several directions for him, but also wonder if he could be sacrificed were the money from abroad big enough?
