First half I couldn’t believe what I was watching. Law of averages, I thought they had to get a few breaks at some point. But we suffocated the life out of them and won pretty much every single challenge. It was unbelievable when you consider what we’ve watched this season. Absolute credit to De Zerbi but he needs to repeat the trick in the next 3 games. We won the highest number for turnovers of any side this season in a game today apparently

Just realised that today was the first league win I’ve seen from us since November 2024 (funnily enough v Villa too). First win in 17 league games and I was in with the Villa fans.
Has anyone got a ticket for the Leeds end next Monday please? Looks like I poison whatever end I’m in.
It's not really mate, we were all hoping that the game being when it was meant they'd play a rotated team, why? Because it would give us a much better chance of getting a result. Let's not pretend making a rake of changes doesn't put you at a disadvantage- we've seen that time and time again when we've rotated players out for cup games, you lose rhythm and familiarity.
We can focus on the positives of our performance and of course the result- we can take all of that in to the next game. We're now in a much better position
This aged wellHow is Gallagher starting over Gray or Bergval?
Romero doesn’t look superb under any manager. He may have the odd game but even the World Cup he won was full of mistakes. Guys a liability and Danso is a much better defender.
You will not have been alone mate, we've all been there. You're just honest! This aged well
YIDSOK, great, thanks for the education.
We all thought it mate. Not many spurs fans that haven’t wondered why the fudge we bought him. This aged well
I think Danso is a better defender but not as good a footballer. Romero would be better in midfield imho. His drive contributes goals too. He is just not good enough at the back
Would love to know how these percentages are calculated. Can you explain?Belief is worth 5% to a team
Another 5% comes from confidence
That’s what decent coach can bring before doing much in the way of clever tactics
Not to mention his on-the-ball ability which is very good (miles better than Dragusin).Yeah, Danso and Dragusin are so much better in the air but MvdV’s pace is such an asset.
I think the place where cashing in on Romero makes sense football-wise is if we either stick with Kinsky or find a keeper with the same passing range. Kinsky has been excellent in that regard and operates as an aux CB in that regard. The other (for me anyway) is if Romero still tries to maintain as much control of the club as he has done in recent times. We finally have a manager who I don't believe would remotely let him be 'that' presence or person. I still think if Romero wanted to work with DeZerbi he'd be great for us. But the truth is, it is probably best we cash in and draw a line under his time here for a variety of reasons...
For me one of Romero or vdv has to go, good individually, but not a great partnership, and CBs is all about partnerships.

If we escape the drop. We know how this goes. He wants players and will get 17yr old instead. He eventually flips and gets the sack.I am loving how RDZ is getting into the heads of the players. I love that he isn’t focussing on injuries as an excuse. I love that he is instilling his system into the team rather than just focussing on the opponent’s. But let’s not get carried away. His game relies on high pressing and high energy. Beautiful when it works, like today. However, we are having decent rest periods between games and only PL games to focus on. Let's wait until the team has to play 2 games a week and compete across multiple tournaments as is the ask of all Spurs managers, to judge how successful he will be. But tbh he is absolutely the right manager for us in this moment.
Which means we will do a utd and get top 4If we stay up we will be playing one game a week pretty much all season. In fact we’ll play less midweek games than we would if were to get relegated
