First half I couldn’t believe what I was watching. Law of averages, I thought they had to get a few breaks at some point. But we suffocated the life out of them and won pretty much every single challenge. It was unbelievable when you consider what we’ve watched this season. Absolute credit to De Zerbi but he needs to repeat the trick in the next 3 games.

Just realised that today was the first league win I’ve seen from us since November 2024 (funnily enough v Villa too). First win in 17 league games and I was in with the Villa fans.

Has anyone got a ticket for the Leeds end next Monday please? Looks like I poison whatever end I’m in.

I don't disagree with the reality of them playing with a weakened team @billyiddo ...what I think needs to be highlighted is that we have been playing with a weakened team for much of the season, especially the last month. We've been playing 'severely weakened' for months! The truth is Villa still put out a strong side (Abraham excepted).

I think the place where cashing in on Romero makes sense football-wise is if we either stick with Kinsky or find a keeper with the same passing range. Kinsky has been excellent in that regard and operates as an aux CB in that regard. The other (for me anyway) is if Romero still tries to maintain as much control of the club as he has done in recent times. We finally have a manager who I don't believe would remotely let him be 'that' presence or person. I still think if Romero wanted to work with DeZerbi he'd be great for us. But the truth is, it is probably best we cash in and draw a line under his time here for a variety of reasons...

For me one of Romero or vdv has to go, good individually, but not a great partnership, and CBs is all about partnerships.
 
I'm going to be controversial here.

Today was the first game I've watched since early Conte days where I felt the players were aligned with their manager's instructions and could execute them. No blind faith or operating massively out of their comfort zone. Finally, they just did the basic things very well and played to their strengths. Nothing like Ange's elaborate system or the Frank's nonsense. Just basic tactics that actually work.

For me it was a game we won 2-1 but played out more like a 3 or 4 nil game.

I think of the two we'd have to nominate Romero. I genuinely think he and this league have passed their flex point. I see non-carded challenges from others that he gets red for. So yeah, take the money and reinvest probably...whatever DeZerbi says I agree with!!!!
 
Outstanding performance. Was a 3.30 a m kick off here so didnt watch live.
Vd v and Danso very good, the midfield 3 were excellent, especially Paulinha. Richy was on fire.
RKM played well. Theres a player there but he does make the wrong decision, or turn the wrong way most of the time. Tel was good too.
Need another 3 efforts at that level and intensity.

All depends, you don't sell top players unless they want to leave. I think Danso is a better option in a relegation fight, where keep it simple, put your body on the line, mop up the stuff in the air, is more suited to his game.

Romero in a RDZ side in front of a keeper that's good with his feet?

I don't think he'll want to stay for a season of no Europe, so not sure it will really be a club decision, and RDZ has said, if players don't want to be here, they can go ..

If we escape the drop. We know how this goes. He wants players and will get 17yr old instead. He eventually flips and gets the sack.
And if these 2 clowns are still here come June. I shall for one will start protesting. And I don't leave my house .....that's how mad I will be
