Not to dismiss it, but a study a couple of years ago showed that most online racist abuse to footballers came from India and Africa and even from bots.

It does annoy me the media frame it as “football fans” without clarifying that this is a global issue and not local Spurs fans.

Same with Saka, they did a study then and 90% of all negative comments (racist or otherwise) we’re from abroad.

Presume it is all linked to betting syndicates rather than to actual fans.

It was a cruel moment. A guy who gives everything getting caught trying to do his job, when several around him did NOT do their jobs and caused the moment in the first place.
As for the abuse...shocking and not fudging on. Ever.

Very unlike him to make that error and that will make more difficult for him to bear. He's a strong person and he knows he has our support.
I find it hard to be too harsh on the rest of them as it was always in my mind that any kind of contact was going to be a free kick and their delivery is excellent.
Not an excuse, more a mitigation.
