Igor the Interim

i assume its only the main pitch that has a shallow pitch depth due to the need for mechanically moving it.
don't we train on regular pitches with normal pitch depth? visiting players don't usually get injured playing against us at home
If this were an issue at all I think it would be a combination of playing time along with fatigue but it would most likely be caused by our training pitches rather than the ground itself.

Training video of him telling the players they need to help each other out, they need to make themselves available/open for pass .. me likey.

I also think he's hinting at he'll find the players with the fight vs. just who on paper should play, as a few more come back, might be interesting if anyone suddenly doesn't make starting 11

I was told we have a very shallow pitch depth
Did raise them in a twitter thread and got told I was wrong
I was told it on the tour
Pitch depth is fairly uniform nowadays. Remember the top layers are removed and replaced each summer.

You only need 50cm before the hard binding layer.

Remember EACH of our 3 pitch trays is 3,000 tons, so the pitch is very deep and solid.

I’m really not claiming to be any expert
I did do the contract for the millennium stadium pitch to be relaid when I was at Laings but it was just a contract and I didn’t have a clue TBH

There's something going on, whether it's the pitch, the actual players or like Munn alluded to not having a top tier medical program who knows but we need to investigate all areas and come to some sort of plan of action.

Looking worse than under Frank, but don't think any manager can get this bunch playing much better, we need Kudus and Deki back to get an injection with some quality to the team to avoid relegation.

Looking back through our 3 year (114 PL games) rolling form and it would appear that Crooked Joe’s kids have truly brought us back to where we were before Levy, so mediocre managers combined with limited players would seem like a natural progression as the negative spiral fully takes hold and our rebuild becomes ever more painful…

Crooked Joe?

He’s only had 2 weeks.

The players have been clams for months.

I thought it was mostly a lazy effort today.
This isn't meant to be a long term appointment though; every game needs a result. Time is not a important. We needed an immediate impact (that doesn't necessarily mean he had to win the last two games but at least show that we could have nicked something from one of them). I saw nothing today ( and even less last week) that indicated that we can get anything against Palace. We are all over the place defensively and are as toothless as ever in attack. A combo that will see us relegated.

I don't think its possible with the attitude of the most of the group of available players.

TF wasn't a mug, to think that anyone else could walk in and generate a huge upturn in performances was fanciful.

There is no magic button we can press.

I think you only see so much in training. Igor now has 2 games worth of data points and simply must prioritise the Palace and Forest games in March. Everything should be geared towards that.

Igor must have surely seen what we all did and there needs to be casualties on Thursday. Gallagher is a great example. Whatever he is saying or doing between games should not trump that he is not able to play at PL pace yet. Ditto with Dragu. Either is he is as bad as some make out, or he is simply not ready for PL pace after a very long injury. Either way, he needs removing.

Just 2 examples of where Igor needs to prove to us in game 3 that he can generate some green shoots out of this bunch.

I don’t really get how anyone can pick the bloke apart with what he has available, most of what he has don’t really care and think they’re above this and the only half decent quality is in a recovery room somewhere.

Whatever happens here, this isn’t really on him for me.
The question is are there enough games to give an interim the chance to save us? I think the answer is yes. The next question is how does that manager get us over the line? Given the time, I would drill us defensively, have us compact and aim to hit teams on the break. A bit like we were in EL winning run. We look woeful at either end of the pitch. Igor had 2 clear weeks to at least drill the team but instead both games could have been lost by 4 goals. I mean today the defending was school playground bad. Iwobi had no one challenging him before scoring. Fulham are inconsistent, it was not impossible to get a draw there today and another point away from the teams around us.
