Ok despite people overestimating how good this squad is..............the rest of the post I stand by. If you think someone is salivating at the prospect of manging this squad for 12 games then I will smoke whatever you are mon frere
$$$$$$$$ - money helps and I am sure so many with an ego look at think " I could turn that around easy"

Was discussing Knutsen with my mate yesterday. Not sure his team building would translate to a big club like Spurs. How do you make these overpaid superstars work together both on and off the pitch like the Bodø guys do? I'm not sure you could make them in this day and age. Too many egos with too much money and Instagram likes. I may be wrong though. Then get the local community and fans along with you for the ride.

If allowed to build a team, he would be ideal, but the cultures are so different I reckon it wouldn't work. Also, his daughter is apparently sick and in need of care back in Norway.
His methods and philosophy is very similar to Pochettino. They use a lot of the same methods. They focus only on enhancing performance, not results, to get the results. Shut out all external noise, and build togetherness.
Knutsen and Pochettino are cut from the same cloth.

Are people overestimating the squad saying it should be top half, or are the people saying it deserves to be in a relegation battle underestimating the squad and giving the manager a free pass?

Is 2 wins from 17 to be expected with this squad? Is it the people saying that isn’t good the people you are disagreeing with?

Mike MacDonald has made it work with the Seahawks.....if you're the right guy, you're the right guy.

What are the chances that we sign 4 ready made first team players? Next to none is wager. More likely is

-An Asian prospect
-A couple of European 'wonderkids' who aren't wanted by the top team they're at
-Prem player that is more or less the same ability as the players we have but was an opportunistic purchase
-One relatively unknown player who is actually decent

All for the fee and wages that would have secured 2 of the 4 to elevate the team.
We signed Kudus & Xavi in the summer along with Palinhia on loan. We were also prepared to sign Savinho. Thats 4 players ready for the 1st Team and an outlay of over £150M. In January when it’s tough to buy players they got Gallagher done and were prepared to sign Robertson & Semenyo on big wages. So I don’t think it’s out of the question. Especially from a position of being close to relegation 2 seasons in a row.

Robertson can still happen on a free and I don’t think any manager we hire would be against it. Thats your Palhinha style signing where your paying big wages but not a huge fee. Then it’s 3 more players and the goalkeeper would be largely funded by a sale of Vicario who will bring in £25M+ worst case. Wouldn’t be against Ter Stegan on a 2 year deal and thats not a huge transfer fee. Then you spend big at DM & LW.

Ermm if you went back to read it correctly, this is related to the prospect for an incoming manager, temp or otherwise based on whats available to them now, hence the reference to only having one fit winger and thay being Tel. I stand by my comments that the squad shape is grim and I dont see bodies that have shown anything to say they are good enough for the situation we are in.

Thats nothing to do with views on Frank or giving anyone a free pass.

Not sure who that is, but just reading today about how a lot of our players didn't think Frank was a "big" enough coach to lead the club, without the pedigree and authority, you'd think a bit of an introverted Norwegian wouldn't be ideal to win the dressing room over. Who knows though, as you say - maybe he'd do it, given the right circumstances.

Ok, the comment about Spurs fans saying the 13 remaining fit senior players we currently have are great is even more bizarre then!

Some are still over stating the ability and quality of whats left available IMO though, even if I was over playing it. Frankly it looks hugely worrying to me, we are a Solanke injury from the abyss

Take away that stuff. His team play good football, he knows the league, he develops young players. His teams tend to fall apart in the 3rd season. As an interim especially he would be solid.
Yeah he's a safe ish pair of hands, he will start whining pretty early on though, it's not his style to knuckle down.

De Zerbi has quit tonight and we want a progressive manager. He is nuts and content like personality if nothing like him style wise. Not sure he will babysit the team til Poch though.

Mo-po needs to let the top brass at the lane know his position asap, as if he does want back in after the world cup, then our needs go from being after someone progressive to to being for someone who can get 12 points from 12 games.

He is prickly and known to be, I would worry coming into this situation would be a clash. I wouldn't trust Brendan

The only thing I would have an issue with if we appointed Poch again is that as far as I can remember(which isn`t too far to be fair) managers who return to clubs for a second spell rarely do well. The most recent exception is probably Moyes second spell at West Ham when he achieved a couple of top 8 finishes and won the conference league. Apart from that I can`t think of any others that have done well second time around.
Our main problem since we got to the Champions League final has been our recruitment. Our squad is very average. We sell world class players and replace them with the most average players. Is it any surprise Harry Kane left eventually. Over the years we have had some real quality players but have we kept them and tried to bring top quality players in? I am sick of us buying youngsters and hoping they come good. For me the exception recently is Archie Gray. Constantly played out of position in multiple different roles but he has mostly been good. The rest of them are average at best. I know we are decimated by injuries but the team that started last night would have struggled in the championship. I wasn`t a big fan of Ange but at least when we lost , we lost having a real go at the other team. At the final whistle last night I said to my boys I will be surprised if Frank does not get sacked in the morning. I know it was our "B" team but I really dont know where we go from here on. I think the only players from last night who would start if everyone was fit would be Vicario Van De Ven and Solanke and I would bet that 2 out of those 3 will not be here next season

Mourinhio won the league again at Chelsea. Dalglish got Liverpool back into Europe and into 2 cup finals.

I would think Rodger’s wouldn’t accept being interim for the rest of the season. If the board want him it would be a 3 year contract. Can’t deny he plays good football but he’s always creeped me out, though I doubt that’s a factor the board are considering

Zidane and Ancelotti both went back to Madrid and were successful. Moyes back at Everton has definitely united their fan base.

There will be obvious examples but I’m struggling to think of examples when it didn’t work out returning? Did Keegan go back to Saudi Sportswashing Machine briefly?
