OMT Spurs vs Geordies 7.30 Tuesday 10th Feb

We are genuinely in big, big trouble.
Not just the results, but we are so clueless in possession. Don’t run, can’t pass, and our only chance is a corner or play panic ball and get a lucky break.

We are currently much worse than West Ham and Forest.
Some of us have been saying it for ages mate.... This isn't a new thing. The worrying thing is that it is starting to become too late to turn it around. If we twist and get a new manager in then it will take him a good few weeks to undo the mess that Frank has created. We can't keep Frank in and sleepwalk our way to relegation and possible administration.

I'm not going to say we were good tonight, it was really messy most of the game

but, the mistake for the first goal was schoolboy stuff, and we should have had a pen

again, its points if we don't make dumb mistakes and get the correct officiating
If you did I'd worry about you even more than I do already!

West Ham under Nuno look miles better coached than us under Frank..... Galling considering the fact that Nuno has had half the time that Frank's had.
Frank is culpable as you saw last night, he set us up so defensively and with no clear plan.

However, Nuno has two wide men that are streets ahead of ours and know how to put the ball in the onion bag (or assist someone else to do it). They also invested in the forward areas in January - admittedly not world beaters but that seems to have energised the team.

On the way home yesterday I decided I am not going back until he has gone. If we get relegated I will still renew my season ticket but I am not going back as long as Frank remains at the club.

I simple have zero faith in that man now.

I wonder what Lange thinks watching last night. I’ve defended the club to an extent that they couldn’t just go and buy anyone but if they had another shot at the January window I wonder if they bring more in (or don’t sell BJ).

I obviously don’t know Vinai or Lange but my working hypothesis is they are not football savvy. An example of what I mean by that is, do either of them look at last night and think “yes that makes sense having Connor Gallagher playing wide right of a front 3”. I know why it happened last night due to injuries but I suspect those leader men don’t realise what a bad fit that is and how limited that player is in that role. They probably just think that’s good cover. And I could point to many scenarios of that kind of thing happening.

Does Lange have a background of success in the transfer market? I assume yes as why did we recruit him otherwise?

Be good to see the players he’s given to managers over the last few years.

Also, back to selling Johnson. One of two things has to happen there - you have to have better lined up to bring in, or you have to have better remaining at the club. Forget the fact we thought it was good money. Worst case is you get £5m less at the end of the season. But at least we keep the player until proper cover is organised. Again - muddled thinking.

You thought they were good in attack, really. They made it hard to score. That’s all that was good about them imo. They are also missing players thru injury

They were better than us at just about everything in the first half. They absolutely dominated. Could easily have scored more than the one they did score. Obviously difficult to know how much of that was them being good at stuff or us being bad at stuff. But they were all kinds of better than us at least, at just about everything. It didn't look like two teams struggling for form and with injuries. It looked like one team being completely outclassed by the other.

And, again, we just couldn't attack, couldn't progress the ball, couldn't sustain possession. That's not all on a Saudi Sportswashing Machine team being good at defending imo. We've seen that a lot this season.

When we got at them in the second half we could see that they too were vulnerable defensively.

They know nothing. They either do want to drive this club in oblivion or the board are at fault for recruiting them.

I know even less than them and if you speak with the all the managers they have worked with even they will tell you. Can I pls replace the players we have lost??
Lange is useless . Ex gooners everywhere in this set up.

This makes no sense. We don't know the bigger picture. But this isnt the behavior of people who want us to succeed. ENIC or someone is benefiting from this.

Don’t disagree (on Odo), but he should be playing League Cup and FA Cup and 70 mins onwards in League matches beneath an established wide forward (and preferably in his best position which is left).

We CHOSE not to sign an established left forward when Son left, instead signing two similar junior players. It’s such poor work from the recruitment team.

To be fair to the transfer committee, we did try to sign Eze to fill the void left behind by Sonny’s departure!

They probably should’ve pivoted from Gibbs-White to Semenyo though and had Ghanaian wingers on both flanks.

The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about playing football. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about sitting back, it's about hoping for a chance to put in a long throw and waiting for the opposition to die of boredom.

For the first time in all the decades I’ve been going to WHL I left the match early last night, partly because Northumberland Park station was closed due to a signal fault but also as we were playing so woefully I had absolutely no confidence in us snatching a late equaliser.

At least we were already on the M25 watching the ManUre match on mobile by the time Sesko scored, so were in slightly better spirits by the time we arrived home an hour later.

Like last season, I’ll attend our European fixture(s) going forward but won’t be wasting my time and money on PL games any more as not worth 5 hours of my time let alone £100+ to watch our injury ravaged team continue to get battered by everyone at home.

Might not be a recall clause in his loan. Same with Vuskovic. We could say fudge that and negotiate a recall anyway, but then a) who would trust us to loan them a player in future? And b) why would Moore/Vuskovic trust us to manage their development?

Think with the Jan business, the club gambled that Frank would improve and Gallagher would be enough to get through the season. Think they didn't expect much from Souza, hence they tried for Robertson, which fell through.

It's a gamble made by a group of people absolutely convinced they won't get relegated. Which is worrisome, because those are typically the sorts of clubs that do - Randy Lerner's Aston Villa were the epitome of this.

Selling Johnson without having a replacment passed their medical, then not bringing back Moore are weak. And its not just after the event in hindsight. Posted the same before the injuries to Kudus and Odobert. We do one thing: play football matches. To leave the first team so short is not a good look.
