Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Does any of that change the point that he came in to a job where the team was playing well? No.

I don't think anyone would or even is disputing that managerial changes can have a positive effect - but to keep harping on about this one particular change as though it's an indicator of what would happen here despite the differing situations is just not worth making. Why not Ange or Dyche at Forest, oh yeah that doesn't suit the point

This and the comparison of apples versus our oranges is just playground levels of lazy.

I Like you don't doubt a manager bounce can change things, but we are not 6th to 4th in change, we have an injury crisis like nothing I have seen, even last season and people are expecting Carrick to walk into Spurs like he did at United is ridiculous. That again is not saying a manager might not have a bounce here, but you can't compare the two like everyone is literally.

Its one thing to speculate on what might have been on be, its another acting like its fact

It’s official: Thomas Frank is the worst ‘big six’ manager ever – with even worse stats than Amorim

Thomas Frank at Tottenham has the worst Premier League record of any ‘big six’ manager of the modern era – even worse than Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.

I do love these types of articles - Thomas Frank didn't take over a top 6 team, he took over one that finished 17th, did any of the managers he's being compared to do the same?

Worked out well with Stellini. And Nuno. 🙄

Picking a manager is a lottery. I’m hoping United are fooled into taking Carrick. He started like a train with Middlesbrough before it all tailed off. Solskjaer Mark 2, I reckon.
Stellini was here for about 3 games.

Our players would look as good as theirs if they had confidence, intent and better attacking tactics

You forgot brains. Some of ours don’t appear to have one, including the captain.

So did we (well £150m on Kudus, Tel and Simons)

Are you actually comparing Kudus and Tel to Cunha and Mbuemo? You’ll be telling me Muani is the new Kane next.

He took over a team that was 5th the season before and had finished in the top 6 for 17 out of last 20 seasons, and he may finish worse than 17th at this rate.

Honestly mate the excuses are an amazing reach at this point, he's not the 5th worse or 3rd worse, he's literally statistically the worst, 28% win rate, he's behind Nuno, Potter & Amorim.

What has the season prior got to do with what he took over? A year is a long time in football - he didn't come in off the back of us playing well, he took over a team that was a mess, losing every week and riddled with injuries - now granted he hasn't been able to turn any of that around so far but it's not him that has brought us to this level it's the level we were at when he took over.

Rubbish

Are you saying we hired him understanding we’d likely stay in the bottom half? I thought we hired him because 17th was”unacceptable” and we should be in the top half.

I’m of the opinion that Frank shouldn’t be our manager and have voiced that view for the best part of 2026. That said, we need to get this idea out of our heads that we’re a top 6 team, we’re not a top 6 team. Our forwards are bottom of the table quality. We don’t have any good passers in midfield. We have a captain who can’t go more than a dozen or so games without getting sent off, suspended or injured. A goalie that can’t do anything to an acceptable standard other than make saves. When you’re languishing near the bottom for 2 seasons in a row under different managers then it’s clearly got something to do with the players not being good enough.

Of course not - if he doesn't improve on last season by a fair margin he will be a goner and rightly so.

But people talk as though last season didn't happen, like we weren't one of the worst teams in the league with a ppg of 1.0 over 38 games, which btw is the worst performance in our history. But it did...

I really thought it'd be an easier job to turn that around than it has proven to be and yeah maybe a different manager would have done better than the last two, we won't know unless we were to see it
