Dominic Solanke

Changes our team completely when he’s playing. Richie and RKM aren’t #9s and Frank-ball demands proper physicality AND skill at that position.

Should go to the WC ahead of Watkins.
Yeah, been really good and great to have him back.

Question with him will be if he can replicate his scoring form from his last season at Bournemouth. If he can he's a really good and really well rounded striker. Offers us a lot of what we need.

His second goal will rightly get so much focus but, for his first goal there's so much to appreciate:
- the timing of his run to avoid being offside
- his strength against the defender that was jockeying him (who is a little unit as well)
- his deft Cruyff touch under pressure to set up his shot. What mental composure to both think of doing that and be able to execute it correctly.

There's 12 points between us and 4th position in the table. Solanke alone gives us a chunk of those if he'd been available to Frank so far this season.

There's a very accomplished forward in there who actually really suits the Frank system.

Why didn't we buy mbuembo or wisse? Because we had Dom. Who then got crocked.

It's ironic that we are Dr Tottenham to rival clubs because our own docs are actually super busy all the time these past two years

I've been rewatching the first goal and I do think we got a bit lucky there, as Dom does seem to connect mostly with the back of Guehi's calf, but I don't think Guehi is at any point in control of the ball at all.

I know Solanke's toe basically does touch the ball, as he's already striking the ball when Guehi gets his leg in front.
I'm glad we got something to go our way which does feel rare at times, and it's funny to me when these entitled teams complain about not getting enough calls going their way.
