All I can see is that Solanke was out for over 60 days, therefore he can be replaced. Why would he be replaced if he’s likely to be fit to play in either or both of the next UCL matches?

I don’t know about his injury and let’s be honest, the whole comms about it has been “mixed” at best
But the rumours yesterday are just plain daft
I’ll paraphrase them for you “ he isn’t injured, he is on a drug ban”… it’s steroid addiction

I wasn’t aware about the other rumours. Only that his injury is dragging on far longer than we had expected and that him being withdrawn from the squad clearly doesn’t bode well for at least not for the next month.

Just to set the record straight, this is incorrect, as per some other thread here.
You can replace a seriously injured player, you don't have to wait 60 days.
But that player you take out cannot come back into the CL squad contention for at least 60 days.
So I think Frank was either misinformed or lying or something else like 'home grown' or whatever but I don't really want to open that minefield of buttered pigeons in a can in a bag before they're hatched.

Results tonight weren't too bad for us. Dortmund and Saudi Sportswashing Machine dropping points, and Napoli being beaten were helpful. Huge game againse Dortmund. Win that and we'll be in with a good chance of top 8.

Looking ahead to the squad we name for the knockout phase had a look at the rules and can't find any mention of players than can be replaced for long term injury , we have four from our original A list on long term injury but we can only register three new players onto the list.
Looks like one down before we even start the knockouts
