Thomas Frank - Head Coach

As said before some of our fans are a disgrace , just shows how they can't handle Woolwich winning the league .
Not going to happen but starting some homegrowns in the side tomorrow would shut these macarons up.

I think this is quite disgusting to be honest. To talk about “hounding” Frank out. If you think he should’ve gone then direct your ire at the board who are putting him through tomorrow.

The biggest problem this club has is the fanbase.

Personally I wouldn't want the club to sack him without a plan in place. Better to keep him than have no manager. He's a dead man walking without results. But if he can get wins on the board, who knows.
Fully agreed.

As long as he's in the job the now super unlikely turnaround could potentially in theory maybe happen. But even if they've made their mind up he's gone and it's just a matter of timing get a solution sorted before sacking him.

Harsh on him to be a dead man walking if that's the case, absolutely. Not a good situation to be in for anyone, can definitely feel for him. But he's paid a lot of money, will get a big pay off if sacked, that's the job. Those in charg at the club need to do what they think is best for the club.

All the Blue Tick YT nonce cases are going mental about the club today, maybe they should have turned down all the NFL passes and stuff they were invited to do when the club opened, rather than be so contrary about it all

The club taking some days to figure out a big decision like this with the amount of changes that have been happening behind the scenes in the last 6 months really is a non issue. That's assuming they're even about to make a decision calling time on Frank.

On the other hand, if the players really don't want to play for him, literally anybody else would do a better job. Only those with eyes and ears in the locker room and on the training ground know what's best in this situation.

From a PR point of view, though, the board probably want to sack him and replace him immediately, if only to avoid a repeat of that unfortunate scenario before we appointed Postecoglou. If you're going to keep the fans waiting for weeks, you'd better have a very special announcement and, at this stage, I think it's fair to say there isn't anybody that fits that bill, bar maybe for Pochettino or Alonso.

Good point. Could end up in a "anyone would be better" scenario. But on the other side clarity and a quick decision could be good for the players too, not just PR and the fans.

Can't help hoping that we get a decision soon, the only way we get a decision in public obviously being the sacking of Frank. Harsh maybe, but the current condition is really troublesome. And once things are spiralling like this it's really rare for managers to turn it around, in part maybe because no one ever gets the chance to do so, but I think also because it's almost impossible to turn around.

We're not going to do anything today or yesterday that will affect tomorrow's game. With our away record, away to Burnley is not that much of a risk with Frank. I would rather the board take their time, than make a kneejerk decision. A caretaker with the opportunity to make a case for being permanent, would give the board time to do a proper job.
Unless in the highly unlikely case of an Alonso or Klopp saying yes.

Is the issue perhaps that within a few weeks those same players may not want to play for the new guy either.

Also, the fixtures in the next few weeks are perhaps not the ones you want to load up on a new guy.

The board backed themselves into a corner. Ideally, you want your new guy in place for March. Season will be over by then, but he'll have the benefit of a few months to assess the squad (again...). However, we've seen that the crowd can quickly turn on a manager so, unless it's a huge name and/or someone with a reputation for playing attractive football, the honeymoon might be shorter than expected.

Not sure what they can do now. The longer they keep Frank, the angrier the season ticket holders will get. They wouldn't be doing him a favour either because there's a good chance the players won't give their best once it becomes obvious that he's toast. Appointing someone now, with that horrible fixture list, is a poisoned gift and if the wrong caretaker could send us tumbling into a relegation fight.

And, of course, if the caretaker does well, nobody will want the new manager by the time he comes in!

Another productive season...

It would be a really cool story if Frank stays on and actually gets great results in this next run of fixtures. Given that his method has lended itself better to away games and is intended to counter bigger sides, it then leading to a complete turn around would be an amazing football story.

I fear everything is too far gone for that to happen. I think something broke with the FA Cup exit because then it became about whether Frank is definitely the right long term person if this season has nothing to play for. And then I think it smashed with losing to West Ham.

Right now the board deserves some scrutiny for their decision to appoint him and it not working out. But they would deserve immense praise for the foresight to keep him if he did end up turning it around through the hardest run of fixtures! It all swings on results.

I'm not sure anything saves him in the eyes of many of our fans after Saturday. It seems impossible that he will turn it around - and I'm not sure he wants to stick around either given the fan reaction. Who would?

Our club hasn't pulled together in the same direction since the 90s when ironically we were awful also. Its so fractured as a fanbase with so many agendas and so many "voices".

You turn up to a West Ham Derby as a fan and you make it easier for them and harder for us, all because of your views on the managers. Tremendous effort and use of £60.00+

I am a broken record and I don't care, we are the least hardy, siege mentality club I know, such a limp d1ck of a club and support base.

I agree to a certain point, i still like to believe that is only a few muppets that are turning the hatred onto the club by the bitching, sad really.

But the situation with him staying on for the Next CL game, which has a far greater effect on our finances, is that the players are in a damned-if-we-do, damned-if-we-don’t situation. If they play well and we win they get stuck with a manager they obviously don’t want to play for. If they play badly and lose it greatly affects our chances of making Top 8, or even qualifying for the knockout stages.

It’s not like the Board didn’t see this coming. The football, results and fan unrest have been building for weeks now. If they are only now considering Plan B, then I give up.

What hope has your team got when the focus is not on the game
