Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Once again, we’re not very good at football. I low key worry that we could get sucked into a relegation battle, not this season but perhaps next season or the one after. Teams that flirt with the bottom half of the table eventually get pulled into the bottom 6 if they don’t improve.
we’re already in one. I said a few weeks ago that I’m WAY more worried about us getting relegated this season than I was last season. We need to keep our fingers crossed that West Ham don’t find some form.

Does anyone actually want Thomas Frank to stay as they think he is a good manager for us? Not saying for anyone that thinks we should give him a chance. But who actually thinks he’s good for us? I can’t see how he stays on any longer. Who is there backing him now?
I honestly believe he needs time and a few windows. His seat at Brentford still has his arse print on it. We will not get anywhere getting rid and who is available that will come in as a long term coach? It will be the same brick again, bring them in, have a poor end to the season and then sack him this time next year.

If we sack him now we will use to a fuel after the next manager fails and use getting shot of managers quickly as an excuse to moan at the owners.

I could see it happening this year to be honest. And you're right, flirt enough with it and this is year 2 and eventually you get fudged.

Come in Billy, such a cheap response. Whenever within a sniff of a final, or in one, you do whatever you can to win it.

Overall, it is a philosophy I believe in. How about you?

Of course mate - it was just a jibe given the talking point previously regarding the football in the EL last season

Relegation Battle

Ring him. He'll come.

We need him to save us from this relegation spiral first. The summer may be too late

Like all those other managers (and players) who apparently can’t wait to come to us every summer…

It makes no difference who we have. The problems at the club have been years in the making and are much, much more deeply rooted than the manager.

The first 15 to 20 minutes tonight was probably our best football of the season. High press, progressive passes and carries, forward passes through the centre, bravery on the ball. I was encouraged by that period

For the rest of the game I thought we were OK. Certainly didn’t deserve to lose and may have even deserved to win. However, we have this horrible tactic of dropping deep into our area and leaving lots of space around our penalty.box so that players have time to pick crosses or shots.

In a nutshell this.
whenever we drop back and look to contain, unless we stodge up the middle with an extra Cb in Danso, we seem to give up crosses or shots.
Players are definitely switching off too.
I was also happy at how we started, and in fairness was happy that at 1-2 we didn't collapse and instead looked to bring the game again. It is probably the most undeserved loss of Frank's time, unfortunately his goose has been cooking for some time so tonight he will get pelters that he probably (in fairness) does not deserve.
Pleased for Tel, a player I have long felt has been poorly treated and misused.
Sad for Muani; we just have no idea what to do with him and he seems increasingly disinterested.

Come on mate. this is our standard now? we looked ok for a little bit against Bournemouth?

Behave @Raziel . @Finney Is Back has consistently been one of the more articulate observers of truths here. In isolation -and meted against what we have seen- I think he is absoloutely right about tonight.

We didn't dominate the game, we didn't own possession, their keeper had one notable save, we still fudge up basics like throw ins, the manager was slow on subs (RKM should have come off at HT)

Again, given we are where we are, it's probably best to try and see any green shoots which exist on a game to game basis; tonight there were some green shoots, albeit I think several of us know it isn't long term enough.

Where the fudge is @DubaiSpur to back me up, this is our ambition, 3 wins in last 12 PL games and well at least we didn't get tonked is the sentiment?

Again, beware of judging a fair and in-context set of observations against wider held (and if I may say, very consistently articulated) opinions of where we're at.

And if you believe that, you take action, you change the manager, bring in at least 2 quality players now (now some fudging kid from Brazil) and you push.

YOU do. Maybe some of us do. Johan Lange doesn't. It would be tantamount to admitting he got something wrong himself, and he won't do that without a fight. I think a lot of our issues go back to Lange. He is driving our identity, Frank is just his employee...

I dont think its down to a numbers recruiter to do that personally. VV was bought in, even under Levy as this great uniter of men, women and all. Despite what, two videos and a fans forum, I see nothing currently to suggest there is a clearer identity. Granted it takes time but we look a shambles

2 league titles, 150 years, Audere est Facere doesn't work at all.

As a philosophy and way of being, it eternally works for me. If you want another approach, pray for some Petro-dollared fudgeheads to storm in and sportwash viaus, because as far as I can see (with the passable exception of Liverpool) those teams have swept up for approximately two decades (the only time those clams Leicester did anything BTW was when they firmly bent the rules).
