Well its a better batting performance than we have had all series in terms of runs scored.
Without Archer our bowling is very average, so that side of things there is no real surprise....

To paraphrase the popular song "Things can only get worse" the county game is no longer the core of our cricket. The more "talented" players concentrate on "hit and run" games, the county championship which was once filled with the best players in the world is full of people I've never heard of and England international rarely play in it. The current England attack has 2 players who have played over 100 first class matches and they are in their 30's. Our batsmen (apart from Root) don't know how to build a match winning or saving innings as strike rate seems the goal not the state of the game.
