Fabio Paratici - Also Sporting Director

All I can think is that a couple of years ago we wouldn't have been talking about those other players in the PL like we do now. That means there exists another pipeline of players coming through. Perhaps having a fantastic data model approach under Lange could help us become incrementally better season over season.

What's interesting is that Andersen passed through Saudi Sportswashing Machine on his way to Forest. Rogers passed through Baggies, City and Boro on his way to Villa. They've both ended up at unattractive clubs. Just proves there's deals to be done.

It always comes back to quality over quantity to me. It's what we get so wrong as a club.
Massively agree with that
I mean we may have our own here already too
What is clear with those players is that the are thriving under a clear structure of play which we don’t have
It’s hard for any young player to shine but in this set up … much harder than it should be
Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t sign more players either, by the way

Agreed, I saw Anderson at Saudi Sportswashing Machine and was jealous and thought he was an absolute star in the making, but there was no way we would possibly winkle him out of there... next thing you know he is at Forest!

As you say, likewise Villa with a few deals e.g. John Dhuran absolutely beasting things out of nowhere, then sold. Buendia forced out and then accepted back and scoring vital goals. The much maligned fat-arse John McGinn who looks like he couldn't run for a bus but consistently drives Villa forwards. There are loads of players around which people may be unsure of, but it is finding the right blend.

Wouldn’t really be worried about losing the individual. More worried that it indicates continuing chaos behind the scenes.
I don't think it's anything more than Levy's man moving on

I imagine he's been given the blessing by the club to move, guess we will see if there is a gardening leave period if he does go, if not it would indicate the club isn't bothered by him leaving.

Nor should they with his record.

Whether the Lange/Paratici dream team would work is open for debate, they certainly had different approaches.

We're probably not going to find out.
Is he Levy's man? We brought him back in on a permanent, quite a while after DL left. I think you hire Paratici for his black book...he gets you access, and he smooths that access. If we don't need that, then why appoint in the first place.

I suppose you can't stop other clubs poaching your staff. It's a bit flakey of Paratici to have his head turned (as I thought he was fully cosied up with us), but offers are offers.

There was a fair bit of chatter around him coming back before it was formally announced, maybe he had signed a deal some time before it was announced?

I quite liked the idea of having one head of youth recruitment (which Lange is supposed to be great at) and one for the first team

Seems a sensible approach and hope it continues.

Is it that clearly defined on the recruitment side ?
