Xavi Simons

He is getting better but there were times he was on the break and nobody ahead of him
Yeah, They were mentioning it on commentary too. He was trying to make things happen and could tell he wanted more from others around him.

Did you see when one of the CBs had the ball Xavi was shouting at Palinha to go and get it because Palinha was wandering out to the right hand side! You could see him thinking "How am I gonna get on the ball if he doesn't even want to take the ball from the CBs!?"

No missed that!
And I guess then this is also the problem with some of our players having a better footballing brain along with technique than others.

If they are not on same level then another reason our attacks break down. Along with that and tinkle poor finishing

Liked the fact he was battling for the ball yesterday far more and it's good he has the CL this season to show his class. He has a lovely shimmy but then not the pace or power to get away (or the options to play a quick pass forwards which I'm sure he's capable of). If you look at how long it took Frank to get a tune out of Damsgaard (a similar whispy player) I think we need patience with Xavi and Frank. I really like seeing a manager build with a team of youngsters though I get frustrated too when we don't get results. I'm trying to temper that in calmer moments with the fact that I don't expect Top 5 this season and young players need time.
