What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Teddy Sheringham
For me, the most imperative signing beyond all, is another left-footed LB/CB.
When Destiny is on the pitch, it offers so much more for the likes of Odobert and Xavi. Balance is everything, and the fact we only have one fit LB is a travesty. Ben Davies can obviously do the job, but given his injuries, etc, I think we have to get another through the door who can offer competition.
We absolutely blew it by not signing Hincapie IMO, so I am hoping we address this.
I'd bid for someone like Raum at Leipzig or Garcia at RM (albeit he is a tad short)...Gonzales at Bologna could be good, and domestically, Mitchell would be decenbt too.

LB, ball playing 8 and a LWF assuming Odobert doesn't progress into a more consistently quality player over the next two months.

LWF - Savinho, Semenyo etc. Its by far the outstanding weak spot in our starting 11. It would also lift the burden on Kudus and Simons in our other two AM positions.

LB comes second. But i would say definitely a specialist LB, not a quasi CB. Vuskovic will be back soon as a LCB. We need much more of a Udogie clone. Mitchell as HG would be very clever, or even Cirkin as CT.

Id also look to make Muani permanent ahead of time if we can negotiate that with PSG, to make sure that gets tied up

My thinking is shifting actually. I was always a fan of buying a hybrid player, especially of the quality of Hincapie. However, this season it is abundantly clear that we need another specialist left back, obviously left footed. I was always a little skeptical that Hincapie (or VDV) would settle for LB when they really want to be playing centre half. Saying that, players like Califiori and White do down the road.

As for centre half, we seem to be well stocked there and obviously Vuskovic is emerging. Palhinha has dropped in competently and we haven't even seen Dragusin yet under Frank.

As for LB names, I'm not really sure. Mitchell is not a bad shout. Leif Davis is another name. I'm sure Lange has a good list though. Better than what we can come up with. With Rico Henry out of contract in the summer, I'm expecting some speculation there. We don't need another crock.

Agree with that.
Was disappointed we didn't go for Calafiori before Arsenal got interested, seemed we were keen on him at the time. Reminds me of Jan V, but not as good obviously.

Good player, needs to work on his defending but might me worth a punt as competition for Udogie.

Definately need a top striker. Maybe limp on till we get Harry back in the summer 😅??
A left winger obviously, and a proper lb to cover Udogie.
I think we are well stocked at cb now, with 3 fit and 2 coming back.

Seems like Prem football is becoming land of the giants; playing Saudi Sportswashing Machine with Dan Burn at left back, 2 big centre backs, JoeLinton, Woltemade et al. Everton have a giant at right back. Liverpool have Isak and Ekitike up top etc.

So I don't really want a little guy at left back; Frimpong got bullied. Leif Davies would get outjumped at the many set pieces. We need a tall left back that can also play football, pass and move, sprint etc, not easy. But not a midget that can't defend set pieces, he will be found out.

Players with a left foot
Our squad is so wonky on that front

We have 2 left footed attackers who play on the right
And 3 left footed defenders which includes Ben Davies who’s playing time is done
If frank is gonna succeed he needs that option

A left sided Denzil Dumphries

Cirkin's a good shout. Danish was always a fan.

I agree, it is becoming imperative.

A progressive CM/DM would be nice, someone like Ederson at Atalanta, who I had on the list 3 years ago.
Which of our 5 CMs would you ditch to enable that? Because there's no way we could get 6 in our squad limits. Would you not take up Pahlinha's option? Try and flog Bentancur, despite his new contract and recent signs of recapturing pre-injury form? Or give up on one of the 3 kids?
