I've never heard of E&D, but my company has been talking about DE&I for years.
I work in London, owned by a group in Manchester, ultimately owned by a US company.
But I don't think that makes me "an imported culture warrior"?!
Sometimes you sound like a real berk.
In terms of your "unfair advantages" there are definitely times when """minorities""" are slightly favoured for positions, to help balance things out e.g. if everyone in a company is white/male/over 50/etc then they would benefit from some different voices from the 'other' side. To assist the company's growth via hearing a different perspective.
Earlier today I read that Spurs had a new CCO and automatically assumed it would be a man, until I scrolled down and saw a woman's name. That is prejudice right there, I'm not ashamed to admit. It is good that our C-suite will not be entirely white/male/over 50/etc.
