Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

I think it’s difficult to capture in words how important he’s been, what a truly excellent job he is done, and how much credit he really deserves.

The stadium, the training ground, the fact that we were no hopers that were turned into one of the invitees into the Super League. The consistent European football. The great moments.

And he did it all with the intention of ensuring we were sustainable and set up well for the success over the long term. There’s a fair argument that considering the constraints and the longevity, he is by far the best Chairman the league has seen. I hope he is proud of his life’s work. It’s interesting that he’s done a few more interviews this summer - like he was laying the foundation for his legacy. And more power to him. He deserves every ounce of praise he gets and should finally be able to relax. Which I doubt he has done for any great amount of time in the last quarter of a century.

I’ve said that I think something needed to change at the club if we were going to continue to progress. There were too many other clubs investing and innovating in their own strategies to move forward. I think our old playbook would have kept us sustainable but left us behind. The irony is I thought this summer we really did make a step change. We competed for proven players against other top sides, and got the deals done.

I think this is an exciting new era for the club. But I really do think it’s tough to put into words what an incredible feat, what an awesome job Daniel did for 25 years.

That’s huge…

A little shocked and wondering what happens next and whether it’s a sale and new owners or if we stick with ENIC and a new person running the show. It’s weird, I’m shocked by it and yet it also feels like something’s been really bubbling under the surface for months. Actually not sure how to feel on this one.

Regardless, from where he joined us, to where we are now, we have absolutely moved forwards and taken a LOT of positive steps.

It’s not often a football club is lucky enough to get a fan as a chairman and even less often for that fan to build the club up from the lows we were in when he took over and turning us into a well run club with amazing facilities and being able to regularly compete at the top table.

Thank you Mr Levy, I can only hope his replacement can push us on even further

I’m not sure if anyone has watched tonight’s LWOS, but Lee McQueen says he is certain on the following:

- We started interviewing for managers before the EL Final
- We approached Alonso in December but he was clear that he was only interested in Real
- Frank has now had four interviews with the club
- Thomas Frank will be the new Spurs manager
- Donna Cullen didn’t choose to step down, she was stepped down
- Scott Munn will go shortly
- Paratici will return
- There is currently no Middle East investment coming in
- Levy will be stepped down shortly
- Ange being stepped down is therefore not a Daniel Levy decision
- Peter Charrington, an ENIC troubleshooter, has been brought in to sort out the club and will be interim chairperson for the foreseeable
- The hotel projects will be scrapped. Money will be diverted into the footballing business.

McQueen says he’s not an ITK but is simply passing on what he’s heard from a “rock solid” source.

We will see, but that’s a lot to put out there if you’re not sure on it.

Will be interesting to see if the last couple of things happen.

I’d love to understand more about the hotel vs footballing business point. What is the calculation there? Is it that hotels would be another long term revenue source? Otherwise, surely we’d plough that money into the footballing business anyway? And how much money is that really anyway?

I really hope that the personal abuse he has suffered wasn't the deciding factor in this, though it probably brought it forward. It staggers me that some fans can't see what an astonishing building DL created in the new White Hart Lane: as if the vision, the commitment and the huge amount of effort he put into the project management, was just irrelevant to our future success. What a legacy! Thank you Daniel...
