I cant say I am on social media everyday, so there is a chance I have missed some posts, but I cant say I have seen anything from him posting really bad stuff that means he got abused to the level he hasNever got the vitriol towards him some folks have, but then, I don't follow him on social media which is where the controversies seem to have arisen.
Hope he does well - there's certainly talent there, and feel like he never really got a fair shake here. He was great for both Leeds and Fulham, and hopefully he carries that into his time at Villarreal too.
It would be the same as if one of our players was a Putin fanboy, cheering every bomb that landed on a Ukrainian city. He doesnt even need to be contrite for the regieme's behaviour, just silent would be enough. But he cheerleads for what the international courts have officially classed as a genocideI cant say I am on social media everyday, so there is a chance I have missed some posts, but I cant say I have seen anything from him posting really bad stuff that means he got abused to the level he has
I see the club got into trouble after banning people for having a go at him for daring to go to Israel? must be more to it

Hmmmmm. Think you're overdoing things somewhat there GB (as usual). It would be the same as if one of our players was a Putin fanboy, cheering every bomb that landed on a Ukrainian city. Can you point me towards where I can see these comments tweets? It would be the same as if one of our players was a Putin fanboy, cheering every bomb that landed on a Ukrainian city. My vitriol has always been towards FIFA and our club to a lesser extent if I'm honest. He was at Donetsk, was still under contract and his stock was rising. They should have been sitting on a healthy profit as he was their asset. Then the Russians invaded and FIFA suspended all contracts of overseas players. That meant that Donetsk couldn't even sell him. So we get him for nothing.
In my mind, FIFA should have found a way that Donetsk got compensated in any subsequent deal. Suspension of contracts should have meant that the period left on the contract was still honoured to maintain market value.
My mild vitriol to my own club is that we have seemed to buy him with absolutely no intention of using him. We just thought we could nick him for free and sell him for a profit. It feels quite callous. For me, a very non-classy thing by Spurs to do when body bags are leaving Donetsk.
Hope he does really well.
Is the precedent really as simple as:
Country gets invaded
All football clubs lose their players
What if the Faroe Islands suddenly kick off and attack the great British Isles and manage to get beyond the Scottish border in their unexpected rampage? Oops well now Liverpool have to watch Isaak go on a free transfer, that was a wasted summer then.
I'm not meaning to trivialise an actual ongoing conflict but I really don't get it..
Take away the questionable morale aspect, it was a dogbrick signing because the player is quite average (or more accurately not quite the level required in a PL team wanting to kick of). Palace fans would have been raging, lose Eze and get Manor in to replace him is shades of Frazier Campbell, they'd rather use the academy players.
When I saw the likes of Solomon put in as a real option in the squad for this season alongside Yan Man Hyeok it did make me chuckle. The latter is one for the future and the former is just a bit of a stain on the club's reputation. It'd be great if we could sign players and actually sell them for a profit a la Chelsea instead of these Gil / Solomon / Bissouma misfires, let's hope Odobert and Tel don't end up in that pile as well but they're occupying an odd position in the grand scheme of things for me.
Jsut a couple of vile lies he has promoted. We all know there were zero beheaded babies now. (This doesn't take away from Hamas crimes). And we all know Israel bombed that hospital and subsequently every other one. He didn't care about the dead babies in the hospital. He's a fukin vile extremist.
Was he talking of this?

How Many Children Were Killed In Hamas's October 7 Attack?
A year on from Hamas's unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, unsubstantiated claims about the number of children killed have maintained traction, whereas an AFP tally established that 37 minors died, including two babies.www.barrons.com
Anyway not a thread for it.

‘Beheaded babies’ - How UK media reported Israel’s fake news as fact
Britain’s national press have been indispensable allies of Israel throughout its brutal war on Gaza.www.declassifieduk.org
Not sure why that makes him vile? It was largely reported as you've shown.
He's israeli. He tweeted about something massive happening which his country is involved in. Which effects his friends and family.
As far as i'm aware he hasn't celebrated any killing or called for blood
Just pointed out the hypocrisy of trying to make out one side as good and the other as evil.
There are atrocities on both sides.Have been for millenia.
Sadly civilians and children are the ones who suffer.
He claimed the murder of 100s in a hospital was done by Palestinians when it was clearly carried out by the IDF.
He shared lies and never corrected them. Lies which made the world say go and kill all them Palestinian babies. It's only fair.
When you have a platform and you share lies and don't correct, especially lies which lead to death of so many, then you are a massive c***
