Because right now they aren't that great? We can get in better quality, and loan one of them out to continue their development. Most people were in agreement in the summer that our forwards were one of the main areas that need upgrading....
They haven’t been given a chance, i am not a fan of Tel but why make the move permanent and spend that sort of money if we are going to bring in even more players in his position.

For 4 attacking roles (assuming a 4-2-3-1, the "front 4").

Kudus, Johnson, Simons (still potentially), Tel, Odobert, another new player, Richarlison and Solanke? Did I forget someone?

So assuming Kulusevski is out for a while, along with Maddison being out that's two per position. One over in total when Kulusevski returns and potentially a bit of a (good) headache/decision to made next summer when Maddison is fully back.

Would mean leaving a player or two off the CL registration. But perhaps that's what we need to do to be competetive across a season of CL football?

Not sure we would loan one out. We lost Son, we then lost Maddison to injury. 3 in. One more player than the second half of last season...

Sorry if I failed to maths/count/remember.

Competition for places, rotation, injuries. Having players here and now who are trusted to start big games in the CL and PL.

I also think we'll be alright if Dom and Richie aren't available.

I think the technical/skill level has gone up...so, if we need to find a front 3 out of Kudus Simmons Deki Johnson Odebert Tel.... we'll be alright.

I'm sure Thomas can tweak it so long balls (but not accurate long passes) can drop out of the game plan if we are playing counter attack against a good opponent, and if we are playing a park the bus team, the trickiness is actually good.

We are playing in the Champions League and want to be as competitive as possible, we have to bridge the gap between our first team and squad players in certain areas. Tel and Odobert both have potential but not at the level to consistently be starting PL or CL level games, so if we want to improve the LW position I don't see it as being a problem (I'd say it's our weakest starting eleven position right now). We have decent options in defence and midfield, adding a quality LW to compliment Kudus on the opposite side would really add a lot IMO....

If the right LW player is available by all means get him but I don't see it as a pressing concern or a hole that needs filling

Yeah, obviously has to be the right player. Not a panic situation at all.

Ideally someone who can also play other roles too for added flexibility. But not another "much of a muchness" player, we don't need that.

Agree. Id love Savinho still as well to create an exceptional AM trio. But if that doesnt happen, Simons' 10/LW versatility gives us enough options

ITK from the COYS forum is claiming we're still going to push for Savinho and he does want to leave City for us.
If true, then signing Simons would only give him more motivation to come here

I've thought its quite obvious those discussions weren't finished. Guardiola wants him gone and the player seems keen on us.
