Don't think Levy (or the string of DoF's managers etc we've had) likes loans without an option to buy. We've barely ever done a straight loan in iirc.

Getting one would get us to a point where we could have really rather good players on the bench even with an injury or two in those forward areas.

Do we need that for a upcoming PL and CL season? Seems like it would be useful.
