"We've signed Kudus and Takai. We've loaned Palhinha. We've made Danso and Tel permanent signings."

That makes the window look and sound better than it is?

I just don’t recall people advocating players we had made permanent as “new signings” in previous windows but maybe I’m wrong. Just I think some posters must always try their best to make sure that Tottenham Hotspur Football Club are painted in the best light possible.

But they’ve played for us before. Just seems like an attempt to make our transfer business sound better than it is.
Not really
It’s just clearing up the facts
As some else said… if we didn’t sign them there would be even more moaning that we didn’t … we have squad gaps they could have filled… of only we did
It’s a damned if you do argument I guess
We have brought them in this window and they will have cost us significant money

Who are those players?
We don’t declare the sale of Hojberg in the last summer because he could only go this summer as part of that deal

It's all came about due to people complaining we have only signed 1 player. Not new signings, and ignoring others as well.

Apologies for trying to support my club, and not trying to be negative at everything

It’s not trying to be negative. It would just be nice if the pendulum swung somewhere in the middle rather than always trying to make the club look faultless and claiming we get everything wrong. For example, Kudus = good signing. Paulinha = smart move. The rest of the window not so much as we have a number of issues still to be addressed.

Did they try and paint the loans as signings?

This window they've been omitting palhinha. While also omitting tel, vuskovic and danso. You can't have it both ways.

Takai seems overlooked totally.

Pointing out the hypocrisy isn't painting the club in the best possible light. It's just saying if you are going to have a rant be honest and factual.

Why would someone omit Palhinha? Hes new to the squad this season. He is strengthening us even if only temporarily.

Ok, we shouldn't have signed them and let them go after their loans. If we had then signed two new players instead of Tel and Danso you would have been happy? So would be 5 new signings, Kudus, Takai, and Vuskovic, plus 2.

Isn’t the point on ‘counting’ loans not that we haven’t spent the money, but we haven’t improved the squad beyond them for the coming season. Because they were already here? So any hopes of projecting how much we will improve need to take into account that we need additions beyond them?

I don’t think that’s being overly negative, and I appreciate the club getting those deals done, but we’re talking about where the gaps are and where we need to improve to progress.

Confirming those two signings just affirmed the status quo, it did not bring any new or additional into the club and that is typically the expectation when the talk of new signings is made. They aren't new, they aren't providing anything we didn't already have. I dont know why this is difficult to understand.

If we had indeed signed two alternatives to Danso and Tel then yes those players would be new ad adding something we didn't already have to the squad (hopefully). There's an argument I can hear where there is discussion that if you don't then sign the players you had on loan then you are in fact weaker than last season but that's the reality. Neither player is new to the team.
