Savinho

Considering the price Madueke went for, and the likely cost of Garnacho, we'd do relatively well here.
In less than 24 hours it's already got to the stage where I'd feel highly disappointed if we don't get him.

The guy can play
Maybe last season was that adapting period
He is IMO smiles more effective than doku who they like but he is also more raw
What we would get (I don’t think this will happen ) is another flying winger
What he doesn’t bring is goals
When you say "i don't think this will happen" do you mean we won't end up signing Savinho?

A year ago I would have been all over this signing because he was very good in Spain and hes everything you want in a wide man. Hes had a difficult start at City but he honestly played pretty well whenever I saw him, he just a bit obssessed with the need to score goals. Hes a very good player, creative and 1 v 1 specialist. I do like the potential in Odobert but i'd feel a lot more comfortable with the LW options being Savinho and Odobert rather than Odobert and whoever else we might have.

I think this is a case of a potential deal opening up for a player we didn't need but if a player like that becomes available you cant turn down the opportunity to sign them...

He looked great at Girona…. Exactly the kind of player we needed
At city it looked his hand had been neutered by pep
I’ve never understood the whole Pep turns them into robots and discourages them from expressing themselves. Doku, Foden and Savinho are prime examples, they literally play with freedom in a Pep team, Bernardo Silva aswell, Mahrez. Its all a myth about Pep wanting his players to pass and pass.

Dweebs on the internet naysaying one of the best in the game out of saltiness. It's been frustrating watching them winning (nearly) everything and it's cooler to slag someone off than to give them credit, and everyone bar city fans find it comfortable to believe they've cheated so he's a figurehead for that ire.

If something is a certain way, it gives people a fuzzy feeling to say the opposite sometimes. It would be interesting to see how Pep would operate at a club like Brighton, it's less easy to revolutionise the game on a shoestring budget but the big spenders who have taken him on haven't regretted it, and they'll be lining up once he leaves City.

If you genuinely don't appreciate his style of football and controlling a game by controlling the ball fair enough, but it doesn't mean he's a brick football manager. Different levels but it's a bit like the clown comments with Ange, in a sit down conversation with the manager in question, people wouldn't be so disparaging in person. Like the Southgate's a P.E teacher, coming from people whose biggest involvement in the game is rehashing clichés at their local nervously hoping folks will agree with them.

Nah
Watch his coaching
It’s almost robotic.
My nephew is doing his masters now in football data and working at derby county
Peps coaching is a reference for repetition of patterns

Got to say, for the money I don’t get it
It’s a huge sum for another winger who isn’t a goal scorer and doesn’t really do that
And he isn’t a good potentially great player
But this doesnt address the creative 10 role where we have a gaping issue

Highly irritating that they bought him from themselves for about £20m last summer. Cheating clams.

That said, he's worth a punt even at £50-60m.

All I would say is if Spurs are willing to pay that sort of money for him, then they likely rate him higher than you do and/or believe they can develop him to a better level than you perhaps envisage.

As for the number 10 role:
1) It might well be that Frank doesn't want or especially require one for what he is looking to do within his system (I hope we do want one)
2) If we do want a 10, we are prepared to work on temporary solutions within the squad if our main target(s) aren't available yet and Kulu not too far away from returning
3) The window has not finished yet and this deal is simply closer to conclusion that the number 10 position signing.....
