I think it is safe to say that relying on him as our 3rd/4th CB is a gamble. Can we really afford to be getting lost in gambles if we seriously want to compete this season? I think it is best we all get back in our lane and re-evaluate expectations based on the last few years and not the month of May 2025.
Losing 2-0 at home to Palace, 2-0 away to Villa and 4-1 at home to Brighton?
You said we shouldn’t get carried away because of the month of May, I was just listing the results which were awful. Not sure quite what you’re saying? I am simply saying that it was a superb win in May and it was an absolutely heroic hail Mary anomaly which in fairness we should not be measuring expectations against. Put it this way; I am not expecting a top 5 finish and I am not expecting a march to the CL Final. I used to allow myself a dream; not this season, and that has nothing to do with Frank (who I believe is a good man, good coach and will do a good job)…
I actually think Jackson would be a really good signing. He's quick, great hold-up play, great presser. Its just his finishing that needs work, but he's still at an age where that would come.
Cat brick or dog brick.Nunez > Jackson for me
It would be all the more palatable if the chairman hadn’t come out and said we want to win the Premier League and Champions League (any time soon). Not sure quite what you’re saying? This is the issue. We are technically net -2 attacking players since we triggered MGW release. This window is becoming increasingly frustrating, barely any real movement in or out when what is needed for both should have been fairly obvious.
Had we brought in MGW i'd be reasonably content so far with seeing 3 first team options coming in (kudus + MGW + Palinha) but having seen our movement stall since then, compounded by the loss of Maddison, then a different picture is forming.

Id take him and Chilwell off Chelsea for £50m
We can’t be plus on money we haven’t spent or gainedThis is the issue. We are technically net -2 attacking players since we triggered MGW release.
Net -2 players and +£60m.
So action is needed.
When MGW release was met we were basically spending £60m and had a fit MGW and nearly fit Maddison in the squad. We can’t be plus on money we haven’t spent or gained
We are neutral on the attacking players as we have replaced Sonny with Kudus
Mercy, I think I'd rather we got Michael Jackson.

We now have neither player for this season and the £60m remains in the bank.
Kudus was already done then.
There is some odd ownership thing too at comoNot sure if it’s been mentioned re: Paz……no manager wants to lose a player….but you can imagine Fabregas making this doubly difficult.

Using Lamela to broker the deal.fudge that clown. In fact I'd double-do the deal just to fudge HIM over!!!!!!
Standing on his hand as he signs the release papersUsing Lamela to broker the deal.
