Douglas Luiz

I heard a rumour......

I think it is time for Don Fabio to work his magic

If I were Sarr, I'd be talking to my agent the moment that deal happens.

Could it be in all this crazy summer, that Sarr is the one to balance the books. I hope not, but can see it happening.

Nah, I think it would be a simple case of Bissouma out and Luiz in.

Would rather we go for a year long loan for Palhinha with an option to buy.... Guy is phenomenal and exactly what we need to batten down the hatches. Hopefully during the year, Archie will learn from him and be ready to take over the role when he departs. Or else if he is outstanding, give him a three year contract and start alternating with Archie

Precisely... Then we would have Palhinha and Sarr for DM and Bergvall and Luiz for B2B. With Gray I guess capable of filling in both...
Really don't think Sarr is a DM. His main asset defensively is being able to intercept and launch counter attacks but he does that best when he can push up into a higher position. He's also such a strong runner with the ball, which would be wasted playing deeper, and he doesn't really seem to have the close control or short passing ability to play there either.

Perhaps he can be moulded into more of a DM as his career progresses, he definitely has the physical attributes to play there, but i don't think he can do it right now which is why we could really use a specialist.

Speaking about Sarr intercepting and launching a counter attack just reminded me of that goal in Bilbao 😁😁 a classic of the genre.

I'm a massive Sarr fan, heaps more to come from him, he's just not a DM like someone suggested earlier...

With Bergvall, Archie, MGW (allegedly?), Madders, Kulu, Bissouma and Bentancur for now, there's a lot of competition/ options. But to cement himself in a CM pair in a 4-2-3-1 I think we'd have to see the best of Pape but consistently over games. I'd still want to see an out and out CDM coming in, energy from Sarr, guile from whoever is in the 10 and an interception / distribution from the new midfielder. Someone a la Alonso, even if that is an audaciously optimistic reference point.

I like Luiz, he's had plenty of good games against us and brings something different, but not different enough to spend 50m+ on for now..

I think movement on anything like this will be once something is publicly announced re moves / contracts for Yves and Bents.

I think people don’t see the talent I see in young Sarr. I think he can go on to be absolutely brilliant. Some of his finishes are top quality, his passing and focus will get better. Compounds that with his engine and physical growth. I do hope that he kicks on under Frank

I said to my mates I hope be develops in to a Vieira type player when he fills out.

That's an excellent set of players to pick from.
So much talent ready to grow.

We'll probably swap Biss for someone expensive, established and good.

We'll get loads of injuries and tired legs and substitutions needed, playing twice per week.
In every game we should get 2 or 3 to go all out for 60 mins and sub on replacements.

Madders MGW Deki - AMs
Bergvall Sarr - B2B
Biss Bent - a bit more sitting but not pure DMs

Agreed. There's definite Vieira vibes with Sarr for me, with his build, movement and involvement. He's got a long way to go to reach that level, obviously, but the talent and potential is there, and it's now up to him to take the next step. He will be 23 in September, so while he's still young, you'd expect him to show improvement and more maturity next season.
