Just finished watching Andor.
What a show. Great story construction and character creation, masterful performances. Treats the audience with respect by not simply doing paint-by-numbers.

Another thing, am I supposed to be rooting for John, Rip and Beth? None of them are nice people or sympathetic. Rip is a murderer, Beth is an alcoholic and a loose cannon.

Yeh its suppose to be the anti hero I suppose, the son/brother they murder starts out the only one with any morals and then gets bullied into the other side by his sister and Dad, who then act shocked that he has issues. It works and is a great show to watch, but the plot doesn't really work for me in that respect.

Sorry mate which characters are you referring to?

Mobland was entirely wacky unrealistic but very watchable. Especially with Hardy playing himself.

Mirren and Brosnan were so so for me.

Finished Handmaid's Tale. Penultimate episode is amazing. Decent finish. Assume a spin off is to come.

Dept Q. I loved this show. Like properly. Love crime shows as it is but felt this was so well done.

Which bits? Have you ever come in to contact with people like this?

Finally got round to watching adolescence, 1 part to go.

Tragic and morbidly fascinating. Horrendous to hear reports from school teachers of those pupils caught up in the Andrew Tate school of misogyny. I've got a nephew who is around that school age who has seen some of his stuff and is rather impressionable. If you tell a teenager to not watch something because it's gonads, that usually comes across as "I should definitely watch this".

In some ways I'm not into the government stepping on what people can / cannot do ie the generation who will never be allowed to buy tobacco products but a social media ban for under 16s seems like a good shout. School's hard enough as it is for kids without all that added flimflam, but then how do you police it.

The one take style of shooting (whether it's bonafide or not lends itself well to the show as well, some awesome performances even from the younger actors involved.

Done Mobland in 3 sittings 😂 not exactly high art but very watchable. I gave up after a couple of episodes but the show that Gangs of London wanted to be maybe?

Apparently renewed for a 2nd season
