*** Tottenham Hotspur v Bodo/Glimt *** Semi final , 1st leg 1/5/25.

Really frustrating but overall I’ll take 3-1 in a semi final any day. They looked really well organised but poorer than any Premier League team we’d play. Also felt like we didn’t really need to do much to go 3-0 up. Had we been able to up the performance a bit I think we’d have gotten the 4th and all but wrapped it up.

No Madders for next week is a worry. And Romero on a yellow is a risk — if he gets booked there, he’ll miss the final. At 3-0 I’d have played Danso…huge call now.
I think yellows get scrapped after the SF

Really good best atmosphere since scum 3-0 game .. but very frustrated thought we were too cautious so did a lot around me .

European nights under the lights allways special.. but crowd know we are fragile

Yeah, I was sat in Block 119 next to away section and the Park Lane drowned them out for most of the game.

A few lads tried to get chant going whilst queues being held at Northumberland Park but that late goal rather took the wind out of people's sails.

Can you be suspended for the final?
Yes, but only after receiving a red card. Because yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals (see Article 63.04), even if a player is cautioned in both legs of a victorious semi-final tie they cannot be suspended for the final.

Bodo fans in the pub
Sound as a pound
Polite and friendly
Some very nice ladies with them too 😉
Great to see fans of two clubs being civilised enjoying the sunshine

Some of the away fans reminded me of the house full of Norwegian ladies who lived next door when I was at uni, good times 😁

Couldn't really begrudge them getting a consolation goal as much friendlier than any away fans I can recall.

Hmm, interesting. The commentators in Japan and a few at the pub mentioned it, so I took them for the word. Good news if not true!

Chuffed with the result.

A little disappointed with Kulu though. He wasn't even on 20 mins and just ambled over to their player on the ball that started their move for the goal. I would be demanding any midfield sub to be high energy and high intensity in that situation. Kulu was also the reason why Johnson had to be stuck on the inside rather than blocking the wide channel. This stuff is subtle, but needs improving at Spurs. So 3-0 becomes 3-1 and the tie changes again.

I'd have taken 3-1 before the game.

Slightly disappointed. Thought we were very good first half and controlled things and was expecting that if we kept grinding them down, we’d overwhelm them second half. But we seemed to take our foot off the gas. Late goal was a tinkler. If they score first next week, the tie gets interesting.

Thought Romero’s yellow was one of the most stupid things I’ve seen on a pitch. He stopped and waited for the lad to hit him for no reason.

On the plus side, thought Porro, Udogie and Bentancur were excellent. Richi was a handful. Most lads played well. Atmosphere was really good. The club did well with the flags, tifo and music pre match.

One thing did dawn on me today. I’ve been supporting Spurs since the mid 80s. We’ve pretty much always had someone who was worth the admission on their own. Hoddle, Waddle, Gazza, Sheringham, Ginola, Ledley, Berbatov, Bale, Harry, Sonny, Dembele.

There isn’t one lad in our squad that I’d pay money to watch if he wasn’t ours. Not having a go at the players, they are what they are but there isn’t one of them in the same bracket as the above list (yes Sonny is with us but it’s like comparing Clark Kent from Superman 2 to The Man of Steel).
