It's a new format to avoid "dead rubbers" at the end of the season i.e. we play a league format for most of the season, then the top 16 have play-offs in a cup format.
1st plays 16th, 2nd plays 15th etc.
We are playing Liverpool next in the quarters, those 4 winners play the semis and finally you get a winner.
