** FA Cup 4th Round - Tottenham Hotspur v Emirates Marketing Project **

Yep I'm not going to moan if I don't see it, there's a chance that Ange might have seen something in training or in Romero's game to say actually he's not suited to it. The thing is he often goes on rampages all over the pitch whether he's meant to or not, and the guy has the technique to play all over and be effective, this way there's in theory be adequate cover behind him....

I do think Romero would have crushed it being the Dier of Poch's system where we switched between a back 3 and the CCB pushing in to midfield depending on whether we had possession.

It's just good to have options I guess, we haven't signed a 30 m CB in January just to sit on the bench but the way we collect injuries it's unlikely the VDV / Cuti partnership will be ever present.
Wouldn't have to be something in his game that means he's not suited to the role. More that it's a different role he's not used to. And him being brilliant at CB, there's several potential downsides to moving him even if he's seen as suited to that role too.

We didn't sign Dragusin just to sit on the bench, and he won't. As you say probably there will be injuries or suspensions. And we just needed another option there too. Could be good to see out games. It does give us options, but to me 3/5 at the back seems like a more likely option than Romero in midfield. And I don't think we'll see that either from the start of this game.

Surely with Kulu’s engine and ball carrying abilities, not to mention his passing and shooting makes him an ideal candidate to fill in for Sarr!?

Bentancur very adept at doing Bissouma’s role.

And Madders back in his position pulling the strings.

Why am I hearing calls for Romero in midfield and Skipp 🤣🤣🤣

At the airport again. I’m trying to do exactly everything I did for the Burnley game. I’m all in for the Cup this year. Had to move from my seat in the Paxton however due to City’s allocation. I’m in South 251 tonight, so looking forward to that and a sore throat in the morning.
Last time I saw City live was Wembley when we couldn’t cope with their press and couldn’t get out of our own half. Positive we can change that tonight. So 3-0 City, Walker hat trick 🤣
Nah, Porro with another thunderbastard!

It makes a change from your usual Dorrington / Youth goal keeper at LB bullsh!t.

I'm not saying Romero should play in midfield this game, it's just an option that I like the sound of in theory, I am entitled to that opinion. If Maddison is fit then him Bentancur and one of PEH / Skipp is absolutely fine.

As for Kulu in a deeper position, he works hard but not sure about his ability to intercept / track runners like a more dedicated defender would, but it could work. It's possibly even a bit more likely than seeing Romero in there...

I think that's an option that should be considered.

Kulusevski does have a great engine and work rate. But the Sarr role is not one he's used to playing and requires quite a bit defensively especially against Emirates Marketing Project. More than just being willing to work hard imo.

Moving him there would also mean not having him in the front three. He's been really important in that role in this kind of game imo. Someone in the final third that can keep hold of the ball, bring others into play, operate well with his back to goal and in tight spaces.

So I wouldn't call that move ideal. Maybe Ange sees it as the best move. But I can also see an argument for Skipp or Hojbjerg in midfield.

Will be interesting to see what Ange goes for.

Looking forward to this... evening under the lights, couple pints of London Pride....Pretty sure they will score a thunderbolt or two...but can we score more?

Yeah I here what you are all saying and fwiw I think Ange will push Kulu further forward and have Skipp in the middle.

On the flip side a good cup run can in itself create motivation and drive. We've seen in recent months that our squad isn't as paper thin as some claimed earlier in the season. I think we could cope.

Regardless of the result we'll be in a strong position for the rest of the season. That's a good place to be.

We are going to lose I'm afraid. I've had some bad news today and when that happens I always get kicked in the nuts. Sorry folks, that's just the way it is.

Club have tweeted a photo of Werner & Johnsons shirts - hinting at a midfield of Kulu Madds and Bentancur?
