Spurs pre-season Perth, Australia

30 shots to 4 in the end!

Bit of a strange match.

Passing was quick and incisive and won the ball back so quickly.
We seemed unpredictable and created so many chances from all over the pitch
Udogie looks absolute quality and Devine impressed me.

Downsides were that we should have scored 5 or 6 and defence terrible.

We too often delayed shooting, allowing blockers to do their job. Hence the imbalance in shots/goals.

Shoot earlier, the deflections may go in - later, the keeper has more time to assess the angles.

Not a bad match, both sides wanted to play open football, going for goals/the win.

Next stop - Leicester-in-Siam on Sunday. The Perry is in the fridge.

Top performance overall. Battered them really for most of the match. Ogbonna was outstanding for them 2nd half. Switch centre backs and we win that 5 - 0.

See the team are training at the WACA, I liked listening to the cricket from Perth as the time difference was good, will miss all the chat about the Swan River End and the Freemantle Doctor now they've move to new ground.
I used to live in Perth, really sad to see the WACA downgraded from a test venue, I used to pop in there on the way home from work.
The new stadium is just across the river, you can actually see it from the WACA, depending how they configure the wicket it should still have a Swan River End. The Freo doctor probably won't have the same impact because the stands in the new place are much higher and it's completely enclosed.

Based on this i'd find it incredibly difficult to pick a squad, let alone a starting 11! Midfield and attack look loaded with options, and I think pretty much all of them played well. Defence on the other hand...
Royal and Udogie look nailed on starters though.

Where will Pedro Porro play? Right wing?

Huge positives to work on, work on being the optimum part, I have given Ange a year to get his style and show progress if its part of the bigger picture, on todays basis we are moving in a direction I personally want to see. There are clear areas to work on but this is game 1.0 of a new era, much prefer to see what I saw today than some weird concept of the game meaning something and us sitting on a 0-0 like we would have before. Good to see

Royal and Spence should be our right back options. Use Porro as an alternative to Kulusevski wide right, which gives us some real variation when teams are used to Kulu cutting in all the time.

I only caught the last 30 but if that's anything to go by this season is going to be a lot of fun but ffs can we please sort out the centre back situation!!

I think it will be a blend, home against Nottingham Forest you could get away with Porro, away to City you couldn't but he can certainly act as a marker for Deki and push for that role to IMO, he is better there
