Still got to get them to perform the way you want. Look at Chelsea for example.

What one season? Since they have been splashing the cash they have been extremely successful as to have city ... money does buy titles

... "look at Chelsea" ...
Yes, still not getting your point?

Your argument is “money buys you titles” and Burnley have spent big. My counter argument is, you still need to have a good coach in order for it to work and i am using Chelsea as an example. They have spent hundreds of millions on players but cannot buy a win and have been through 3 managers. Kompany has had 1 pre season and has got Burnley promoted and completely transformed their playing style.

No I get your point, you spend big and get a manager that can translate that in to the pitch and it becomes easier than to have a great manager and limited funds.

I think Unai emery is not the best manager but could win titles with City or Chelsea.

He has done really well and I am not personally trying to take away any of his achievements, just curious if people are interested more in him because of his name. When I think of it, I wonder if Farke, Bielsa or the speccy guy from Huddersfield that year would have been as attractive if there was different timing. Not so sure.

Before anyone goes OTT, I am no belittling the achievement nor am I setting him up for a fall, he will get my support if he came. Just a conversation point

Emery is doing a very good job at Villa, like ridiculously good and he also done well at Sevilla, and also won the Europa league with Villareal, he is a very underrated manager.

Great manager, was def victim of what happens in the UK, popular smearing by media and social media, making a mockery of him because of how he spoke we borderline bigoted and people were lapping it up. Always felt sorry for him

Bit like Jamie redknapp and other so called "pundits" ... hes torn Romero a new one saying that he is a liability ... not once have I heard him use that sort of language against the likes of Harry maguire or Eric dier.

I honestly think he'd be the best man for the job. It's a huge task in the summer and think it'll be too big for a lot of the potential candidates.
We need a rebuild which Poch knew when he was here, he just didn't have the funds/opportunities to do it.

So, uh...I take it not many are still on the 'it's only been a day/week/month since we sacked Conte, we have plenty of time' bus? Just checking - know how vehement the opinion was back then that this was nothing like the farce we went through the last tiem we looked for a coach, after all.

When we sacked Conte we had something to play for. Now we have nothing to play for but pride.

And as the past month has demonstrated, these players have no pride - a more loathsomely cowardly, spineless group of men calling themselves 'professionals' has rarely been assembled.

Other clubs move fast, appoint replacements, and salvage seasons - Villa were just above the drop zone when they made their change, now they are going to finish up above us.

Not us. The smartest chairman in the league knows better, you see.
