And I bet you the keys to my house that none will be there in 20 years let alone make the same commercial or community impact that Spurs have and will go on further to make.

Spurs had the 5th highest revenue in the PL in the season before ENIC took over from Sugar.

For some reason many on here seem to have this idea that Spurs didn't have high revenues prior to ENIC taking over.

Again some very good points, I expect the owners to make the most of any commercial avenues and rightly so have excelled in this department.

They do invest in the squad but do not spend the money wisely and have managers have alluded to, not just one, do not back them where they have requested.

Commercially great, on the pitch below par.

I think that last line is how many of us feel. But as someone on here said recently what do we want to become a business with a football division? Or a football club first with a strong commercial background. It's not black and white I get that. But there is no harm as a fan dreaming of us winning the big trophies, being back in the Champs League final or competing for the title again.

Many on here are not allowing the on field bias to taint their view on whats happened off the pitch. Plenty of financial and commercial experts have held Spurs up many times for the commercial development but Dave on twitter has a bee in his bonnet about the performances on the pitch so they are wrong.

I know its bad in general but you are really letting the results cloud your judgement on everything including now comparing revenues that would not stack up with inflation from 20 years ago to now. I guarantee that as a % we were further away from the top and closer to those below us in revenue terms than we are now, hence why 5th in revenue translated to 10th, 11th and 14th in the years previously, the gap was smaller.

I just find it weird that people on here back Levy to the hilt so vociferously but don’t do the same for the players whether that’s ex players or the current squad. 9 times out of 10 they back Levy. Even now when it’s absolutely farcical what is going on our/Levy’s club you still get people defending him and claiming we can’t do any better

You have an objective starting point.

That even ringfences it to football performance.

You can exclude offield commercial/infrastructure development, although in any owner comparison this should be taken into account but I'm sure you're happy with this part?

No problem with dreaming or aspiring to great things for the club, it's the irrational mantra that ENIC are stopping this happening and a change will automatically make everything better that grinds with me. The club will change ownership at some time in the future and I dont believe it will happen because some fans are unhappy, just got to look down the road to last year, club had a crap manager, owners who were holding them back and a poor squad according to their fans.

I don’t think anyone said it’s easy or that Levy hasn’t done good work but no one in football gets a life pass. I could flip the question round and ask why if other chairmen at their respective PL clubs can get managerial appointments right, back them, not fudge the timings of sackings, not take an age In appointing managers then why can’t Levy after more than 20 years. Should we just accept things as they are forever because the next chairman “do a Leeds”?

Like most fans who have concerns about ENIC, I’m happy with the off field stuff, the commercial aspects, financial, outreach stuff they do with the local community. But the football side is ultimately what we support the club for and that side has been poor for a number of years.

You'll have to provide a wider period just to discount the probability of a company 'rude healthing' themselves before a sale.

And expand the actual amounts which would have us closer to our peers below than we are now. Were I would imagine there being 10s of millions difference between 5th and 10th there is now over 200m difference. Our league places also reflect how close the revenue was back then seeing as we would rarely finish top 10 despite "high" revenue

Yep. Things could turn around quickly if we get the manager and recruitment parts right. I just don’t think ENIC will get it right, or they’ll make another decision that costs us whether it’s failing to back the manager or undermining him in some way. That’s why I have reached the conclusion that I’d like new owners because in a way I don’t think it matters who the manager is as long as we have our current owners.

To be honest i do understand the angst of some fans about Levy and his ownership but there has to be a middle ground between the so called haters and the so called lovers. Of course he has made mistakes ( just like EVERYONE of us on here has in our life). After all he has had a major job to have built up what he has done over the years, i understand the frustrations of some of the anti Levy group because as i say he HAS made mistakes but for some of us we can also look at how far this club has come since he has been here.

Again to be honest ( apart from one or two posters on here) the criticisms on here are fair in general and as they say Stop! Hammer time. You get the Levy out phalanx saying those who support Levy think he is blameless for where we are at this moment which is gonad*s, of course he has made mistakes but i have never met ANYONE who does not make mistakes we all do it all the time.

I have been a supporter for a very long time and to see where my club is now is millions of miles away from what it used to be and a lot of that is down to Levy ( even though i admit he has made mistakes along the way). But as they say opinions are like arseholes everyone has one and where would the fun be if we all agreed.
