Will it though? He's not exactly a massive name for anyone who doesn't follow much football outside of the PL. With Nagelsmann and Poch unemployed, this would feel like a cheap option to a lot of folks.

Levy could get the reaction he was trying to avoid when he appointed Santini against Arnesen's better judgement. That said, the chubby bald Dutch guy who eventually got the job didn't do too badly...

Sorry, I should have taken "some of" the heat of Levy. There's a group who want Levy out come what may. Others would be placated by some certainty and direction

You either appoint a project manager (de Zerbi, Slot, Kompany etc) or a 'Results now' (cough cough) manager like Jose, Conte etc.

There's not much in between. Poch would be a project manager too
Yep
And slot has done more than most
It could also be utter gonad*s but the guy who mentioned it on the call does come coaching in Holland for AZ

Would take some of the heat off Levy. Announce that, fire Stellini and put Mason in charge til the end of the season

A novice no one had heard about till 3 weeks ago, who was just quite publicly schooled by a has-been like Mourinho?

Yea we need a name like Jose or Conte…
No we need someone that has more then 2 years manager experience i dutch League. He play attacking football with fast wing backs but I dont think he will draw anyone to the Club. I can see us getting him if the job is to use some years and build a new team..

Publicly schooled or beaten by a team that is clearly better?
They weren’t clearly better
They had more resources and nothing else to focus on
Maureeens team ain’t winning the league
Slots team is
It took an 89th minute equaliser from a player a lot of our fans wanted to keep them in the tie

So again we are here again .... Mourinho a " has been" has won a European trophy with Roma, got us to a final and now looks bang on to win another competition in Europe ... 8 get he didn't fit with the Levy model but let's not delude ourselves here ... and on the other hand you have slot who is about to perform a miracle in the Dutch league and has done very well before this season ... a novice? Yet you are championing de zerbi, Mason and stellini

I get that you are sulking about pochettino but honestly get a grip.

His AZ team was going to win the league over Ten Haags Ajax when Covid kicked in
They were level but Az were the better side when I watched
By the end of this season he will have won as much as Nagellsmann

I mean Roma are clearly better on paper, Slot had AZ very close to beating them, not in the slightest a schooling by Mourinho.

Just like Arsenal is winning this year?
Its the f…ing dutch League. Ten Haag has been lucky, thats all.. dont rate him
Wow
Well arsenal ain’t winning the league
And they don’t have other people deciding the league is being stopped
Ten Haag is a very very good coach but your entitled to your views of course

My preference would be Poch, but if he's not an option and we either need to find another Jose/Conte (who would that be?) or a project manager (de Z, Kompany, Slot etc), I'd go for the latter

Slot's record isn't nothing compared to what Christian Gross's was in Switzerland...

He's also never managed against defences that know how to defend (defending in the Dutch league is Sunday league standard).

Could see the issue with managers happening a few years back
With so little changes going on we ended up with a selection of “elite managers” which was a small group
And the rest are just others
The reality is the elite ones have the resources until someone else gets the chance
Tuchel before he won the CL hadn’t won a big cup. Then he became elite in the eyes of some

So he has basically done what Poch did in France? but without the resources
