The Immense Struggle to avoid the European Conference League

“Everton up to 13th with dogged defensive display, an Eric Dier own goal and Pickford setting a new record for most saves gets them 3pts”

A home win is the likely outcome. Similar to the end of last season, I can see them picking some vital wins when the chips are down. The crowd will be right behind them, we could do with an early goal to calm them down

We spanked them last season at our ground didn’t we?

Honestly only see us possibly winning 2 more games this season. Leeds and Bournemouth. Maybe United as they look shot.

Brighton , Brentford and Saudi Sportswashing Machine beat us. I have no doubt.

This is a total shambles from the club mess of a season.

I think the only reason ENIC invested in us this summer was because they completely shat themselves about the prospect of Saudi Sportswashing Machine coming along and taking our (semi-consistent) champions league spot away from us.

They knew that once Saudi Sportswashing Machine become top 4 their financial and bargaining power will increase exponentially. They’ve got the resources to attract bigger players then us.

Having champions league to offer next season there’s zero reason for a player to choose us over them, other then the London factor I guess.

I think Saudi Sportswashing Machine getting top four will be the worst thing that’s happened to our club this millennium.

We should’ve invested like we did in the summer sooner. Not necessarily to the same extent but more consistently than we had. Instead we became extremely complacent and took for granted that we could spend little and sit on our laurel’s.

What makes us look completely amateurish and should be even more of a concern, however, is how fast Saudi Sportswashing Machine have been in making smart investments compared to ours.

In a year and a half they’ve gone from bottom of the league to third place.

They’re only just getting started and they’re in virtually as good a position as we’ve ever got the past two decades.

Granted it’s only one season and I’m sure we’ll finish above them at least once or twice in the next decade, but I struggle us to see us doing that consistently from here on out.

Throwing away so many points. Some basic leadership and spine and we'd have taken 6 points from the last 2 games not 2 poitns

Not holding out any hope of getting any points from people who are near us. Which could include anyone. I see a Brighton win for starters. Why? Cos well we need a win. And we will panic again in last 10min. That's if we are even ahead by some miracle. I know logically they don't mean to implode but how they play sure makes me wonder. I wish the effort we put against City happens 18 other times.

Mental. We know we are their bogie team. While we seem to roll over for others we rarely beat home or away

2 points out of 12 in consecutive games away vs Leicester, Wolves, Soton and Everton.

Does anyone still think we can make top 4?
