Antonio Conte - officially NOT the coach of THFC

Why hasn’t he been sacked yet?

Because poch is playing hard ball.
No poch and no harry at the start of next season and this is going to get very ugly.
Poch will be laying down some very strict conditions and levy is not in much of a position to argue.

Would imagine Madrid might be moving for him as to head off ourselves. Been talk of him going there for a while once CA is finished this summer.

As much is it would be nice to see Poch I don’t think it’s a good time yet. Wait till there are no players left from his previous tenure. Needs to be a blank canvas.

Football fans are a fickle lot. Levy could appoint Luis Enrique, get some easy fixtures to start the season, sign a couple of exciting players and nobody would give two thoughts about Pochettino and Kane. Nobody did last season, when we had a great run and snatched 4th...

Levy's Bentley is stuck in the snow on Whitewebbs Road according to ITK. He's lunching in the King and Tinker while the Brad Friedel guy is shovelling it free.

Maybe the Brad Friedel guy is the root of our problems. He might be an unlucky charm

ITKs seem to all be hedging their bets as usual. Some think it will happen before the weekend, Some say Tuchel is high on the list, Some say we have no interest in Tuchel lol.

One thing is for sure, Let's hope we don't have 3 or 4 weeks of Ryan Mason limbo... Levy has had months to prepare for this

I have never been "a sack the manager" supporter, as I don't think the problems are easily solved by that action and I believe our recent history supports that view. The team has not been providing the type of football I hope to see us play and there has been little consistency in performance or results since the world cup break, whether that is the cause I dont know.
The team should by now be fully aware of what the manager wants and I believe it's a question of their belief in him or his tactics. Something has to change, if this group can't play his system succesfully then it's far easier to change the system than recruit more suitable players while clearing out unwanted staff. Conte does not seem to want to change his system and his perverse substitution of Sanchez last night underlined his stubbornness.

This leave with the only option of changing our manager. Replacing him at this stage of season will not be easy and would probably leave us with Mason as caretaker until a suitable candidate can be found.

I not looking forward to the rest of the season as I'm sure there will be nothing but more discontent within the fan base and endless debate/argument about who should get the job.

It's a sad time to be a Spurs fan and cast a shadow over our match on Saturday, I was looking forward to celebrating my 65 years anniversary of attending matches at the lane, now I expect a toxic afternoon.

Happy 65th anniversary - I hope the team at least have a shot on target for you :)

I’d like poch back and the football would be miles better but let’s manage our own expectations. We need two CB’s, at least two forwards after Kane has gone and Poch’s subs were hardly much better than Conte. Takes ages to make them, even said in his book he was reluctant to make subs in fear of hurting players feelings.

I honestly think any manager will improve this team at this point

- Don't play Perisic as a WB
- Don't start an out of form Son when you have multiple other attacking options
- Put an extra man in midfield
- Evaluate and use your young players to add energy to the team
- Have the club go for a creative player in summer
- Take off the fudging handbrake

That will up the team a level.

What people are missing is if Chelsea & Pool were having a normal season Conte's brick would have been exposed a long time ago

There's still the huge problem of trying to pick 2 worthy CBs from our sorry bunch

Been thinking of the word to sum us up as a team and club.

SLOW

Everything we do is slow. From passes along the back line, to build up, to set pieces, to subs, to transfers, to everything.

You watch some teams and they have intent from the first whistle and have a clear strategy to do things at tempo. We are the least inventive, dynamic team that I’ve seen all season.

If you are looking for an opposite comparison. Consider the England test cricket team since Brendan McCullum came in (Bazball). This stuff starts at the top and filters all the way through. Conte comes across as being a few steps behind in his press conferences, subs, tactics etc - it’s no wonder it transfers on to the pitch.

Whoever comes in next, let’s have the Bazball equivalent. Win, lose or draw, let’s increase our club tempo from top to bottom.

Ah your thinking what levy what’s
I’m thinking what a fan wants
It was so bad yesterday a guy near me said Nuno would have done better ….

Poch would tick the boxes
I also think De Zerbi is showing his credentials
I think someone needs to take a gamble on Gallardo myself
I also think from what I’ve seen him do this season, fonseca is doing great stuff
The manager form Lisbon has impressed me

but in reality… it’s pochs job

This place was up in arms when Fonseca was linked, allegedly turned down because Patrici wanted a more defensive coach. Ironic that Nuno was sacked partly for being too defensive and we've brought in another defensive coach. Maybe it's the Italian defensive mentality but Fonseca does look like he plays good attacking football if nothing else.

I like Tuchel but he also seems a bit stubborn, good coach though.

What could possibly go wrong with ANOTHER former Chelsea manager?

Given what a sh1t show the footballing side of our club is, any and every potential manager and their agents will be playing hard ball. Levy is not to be trusted as an employer for a manager given his decades long history of not really enabling them to do their jobs properly.

Speaking of Fonseca...

Lille[edit]
On 29 June 2022, Fonseca signed a two-year contract with French Ligue 1 club Lille.[48] He made his debut on 7 August in a 4–1 home win over Auxerre.[49] On 9 October, his team defeated Derby du Nord rivals Lens 1–0 also at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.[50] One of the best attacking sides in the first half of that season, they were praised for their stylish and slick passing game, playing in an open 4–2–3–1 formation with Benjamin André, André Gomes or Angel Gomes being deployed as central midfielders behind playmaker Rémy Cabella and lone striker Jonathan David. Following a 4–3 home victory against Monaco on 23 October, only Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain had more possession in the domestic league.[51][52]

....Only 6th in the table though
