Definitely not an out of car window Transfer Thread

I think they've come out on top this window.

Funny that, if we had missed out on our two priority targets because of £££ and bought much cheaper players in their place something tells me you wouldn't be calling it a good window.

Edit : i see this point has already been made

The time it's taking for us to complete a medical for Porro, I doubt we will be doing any more business in this window.

I would hardly call it backing Conte, seems more to me like we have added a couple of bodies to help, without spending much of our budget, which we are saving for the next man (Pochettino) as they have accepted the fact Conte is leaving in Summer, whether he delivers the FA Cup or not

We seem to have signed one of the best players in his position. Who is pretty crucial for the prime implementation of Conte's tactical desires. That's backing him.

It is going to be interesting to see how many games Porro gets. I dont expect him to play Sunday, probably a big ask, but if he is a Conte request I expect to see make his debut v Leicester.
Danjuma I dont know yet, didnt get enough minutes v Preston to make any sort of judgement, as I didnt know much about him before he signed

I think he'll come off the bench sunday.

Porro will be first choice RWB starting week in week out IMO. Only question is whether the first game is City or Leicester

I think thats a very glass half empty view:

1) signing any more than 2 players in Jan is unusual. We've signed two players who are experienced pros rather than kids. One of those two will be a first 11 player, the other more or less always on the bench. Thats a good Jan window

2) "spending much of our budget" - need to look at the capital committed rather than cash spent. We're committing £45m for Porro plus whatever the loan fee for Danjuma is. Call is £50m in a Jan window - thats a decent outlay, particularly with minimal sales or loan fees

True but we are behind because we needed a rebuild so this isn’t normal times or at least it shouldn’t be.

We also wouldn’t be in this mess if the squad wasn’t neglected during pochettino’s time. But enic have previous for this. Challenging for the title under redknapp and in Jan enic add ageing players ryan nelson and saha.

Same for Poch both times we were going for the title under him. Hardly any backing from enic at all in those January’s.

Just not worth the risk for enic to go the extra mile between top 4 and going for the title.

Really sums up how they are not about achieving the best for the football TEAM.

They are deliberately leaving the announcement as late as possible, classic enic tactics.

I have no doubt its been all done and signed off hours ago including the poxy video.

Without wanting to go back over the last 5+ years as its been done a million times and different people have different views, we have had 3 good windows in a row so if we call this our new way of working, its working well

We have actually signed a first choice target
One who will start in our first 11 and key for us… is one conte wanted
Looking at other teams signings it’s only the lower teams that appear to have done that
It’s possible Gordon may start regularly .. I think he is a weak player
United getting sabitzer is smart business
Chelsea… fudge knows. They have brought so many, plenty will play
Gakpo isn’t an upgrade for pool
As I said earlier and several times I think arsenals business is better for them than them buying a few much more expensive players

Enics only asset is tottenham. Levys money is enic/spurs. What you mean is backing from lewis, who is an investor.

Hmmm not so sure . Yes progress. There’s a but there tho.
Goal Keeper succession should have been addressed in a young No2 who could step up and the failure in only adding 1 CB to our bang average pool of Central defenders. Lenglet is pretty average too. Would be surprised if that’s made a permanent.

As good as parts of our strategy have been there is certainly gaps.

Also allows them to go big for rice or even bellingham in the summer.

I’d be amazed if Bellingham turns up anywhere but Liverpool. They’ve been flirting with each other for 6 months now.

Rice will go to Utd

Liverpool not in the cl? Madrid would be my bet or even psg, but arsenal might be a better shout than liverpool in the summer. If they win the league.

Never know though. We win the cl we might have a go.

But they are gaps that’s been widely reported have been in the summer plans
That’s actually sensible for once and as much as I think we need to replace Hugo asap we must buy players that will be played, and played straight away pretty much. We don’t have the cash to do anything different
Reya or Pickford in the summer will come IMO
Both are HG, and have short contracts by then
We will get in at least 2 CBS/defenders too in the summer
A key for us is shifting the brick

For clubs like Liverpool and Utd it doesn’t really matter about CL for one season, the pull is still there and the likelihood is it’s only a blip anyway. Also they are still in the CL so could qualify again by winning it..

City
I’ve thought it for a while and they will go big for him
