Son Heung-Min

Son’s always been streaky as far as I remember. There just seems to be a weird collective amnesia among pundits and journalists about it!

Just looked at the stats, and before last season (where he was noticeably consistent), he had the following goalless streaks of games in the PL:

20/21: 5,7
19/20: 5,6
18/19: 5,5,7

I think he’s always gone through patches where he doesn’t score and looks brick, then he bursts into life and goes on great runs. Hopefully that’ll happen again soon.

But he is not a streaky player.
 
Yeah I wanted it changed back to what it was out of superstition, wasn't looking to pile on the negativity

His longest goal drought last season was 4 games, in the league it was anyway. That’s not unusual for forwards to go through spells like that without a goal. I think what people always forget too is that he’s a far more creative player than he was when he arrived. Creates more chances and assists. Don’t get get me wrong he has weaknesses in his game but almost all players do.

how do you think kane feels?
i think kane would be desperate to get the golden boot this season.
though i see more goals for the team if Kane dropped deep to create space for Son to attack, I anticipate Kane would disagree

I think Kane is happy to drop deep if it means we win more games. Of course I'm sure he would also rather have scored all six goals himself today, but I do think he prefers actually winning games over personal glory.

Think Kane has always seen himself as a 10 rather than 9. Those have been the murmurings form the club. So maybe not as goal obsessed as sometimes painted in culture.
