** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Forest **

I agree, front three need to sort their brick out and use the ball properly*. The game could have been dead 20 mins in yesterday.

*Kulu has been way better than the other two to be fair to him.

Unfair to single out the forwards. Their overall play hasn’t been what we know it can be but the whole team seems to struggle to keep the ball string more than 5-6 passes together.

I feel like they are responsible for more turnovers than the 8 behind them.

Everything looks better if they play better, the opposition give up, or at least stop attacking with so many, and pressure on our defence decreases. Then we can stroll around.

It would help if we had players in the defence who were better on the ball. Royal for example wastes opportunities with the ball. We miss Romero who is adept at turning defence into attack and can dribble past players. He’s the only CB we have who is progressive on the ball. The CM’s don’t dominate the midfield either. Totally inaccurate to pin all of the blame for our slow starts on the forwards.

Yes, it's obviously Sanchez and Royals fault that the attackers haven't taken their chances. Replace those two and Son and Kulu will smash in every chance they get.

I’d agree if we were struggling to get the ball to the forwards, but we aren’t.

Getting a little obsessed now continuing this over multiple threads when I didn’t even mention his name?
Not sure who's the most obsessed... Nice try specifically not mentioning him, but everyone who has read any other thread where the defence is mentioned, knows exactly what you ment.

I was referring to the team as a whole as we seem to start slow as a team in general, that’s the entire 11. Actually getting a bit creepy now.

No, you specifically said we struggle to move from defence to attack because the defenders are not good with the ball. But we certainly don't struggle in transition. Take a look at the MOTD analysis of the game.

Thats the nature of their job, they take more risks, they take more shots, I would be genuinely worried if the other 8 were responsible for more turnover

I’m not counting shots, I mean the bad control, lack of awareness and pace to get away from a challenge, poor passing.

Things we know from experience they have been absolutely brilliant at previously.

But there lies the issue, there has been an unhealthy reliance on them as a three because they are the best in the biz where as the other top teams have more support from wide or CM, until we improve in those areas, which we seem to with Perisic then we are going to always walk the line of the front three having hot and cold games unless others ease the burden.

I don’t see it as unhealthy, it’s like when we had Bale, you use your best weapon.

Our system is built on getting them the ball up the pitch on the break, our defensive system is there to feed them in situations where they have been most dangerous. It’s not all on them, they just get to do the fun and easy bit, get in space, take a good touch, then either score or pass to someone in a better position.

Imagine if the rest of the team were as good as the front three.
