Have we beeen linked with any proper wing backs yet? We desperately need cover/upgrade for Doherty on our right side, as well as a really good first choice left sided one.
Yesterday was disastrous.
Kostics crosses are immenseSingo, spence and kostic.
Singo, spence and kostic.
I don’t see us doing anything like that level of business so it might make sense to sell the crown jewel and have a go at a real rebuild with young players…. I think we’d have a sticky year or two as the young team developed but it might make real, long term sense…. Otherwise I sense that we might end up 6th or 7th for a few years, then lose Kane for nothing and find ourselves with no money with which to carry out the rebuild.
We can afford it if we shift the deadwood. Paratici started it in January, hopefully he can make some of the loan deals out permanent and shift a few more.I think if we sell Kane then Conte leaves. He's not the sort of manager who will stick around for a long-term rebuild. Only way he remains is if he's backed - 3/4 first choice players this summer and 2-4 backs-up
We can afford that if we shop well
I think we can seriously upgrade the squad by trading players in and out and without a big net spendIf we really want to challenge for the big trophies and are sticking with Conte and his 3-4-3 then we definitely need players to go straight into the first team at RWB, LCB, CM. We probably also need better first choice players in the CB and LWB positions…. Along with a better back up keeper, some sort of backup centre forward and a creative attacking midfield option for certain games/situations.

Sam Johnson - free
Tarkowski got rodon - £15m up
Royal for Spence - probably nett 0
moura for Brereton - fee would be a tribunal so not high si probably the same we could get for Lucas
Bastoni for Sanchez - probably a negative £20m
Eriksen on a free
Sell Lo Celso and we’re probably back to being positive money wise
That’s all without any investment in monetary terms, improves the HG numbers and brings in players with a point to prove
but that of course makes an assumption we look at the UK for players more than I think I we do
Kostic valued around £12m. Selling reguillon and bringing him in would gain funds.
I'd give him 48 hours in England before he acquires the nickname Soda
I think next season Poch will play Parrott on the front of the top 3 will kulu and Devine just behind them.
You think Poch is off to manage MK Dons?!?I think next season Poch will play Parrott on the front of the top 3 will kulu and Devine just behind them.
A few links coming from Turkey that we're talking to Besiktas about signing Ridvan Yilmaz. Story is that we're offering about 8 million euros but Besiktas would want a few more million for him.
Leicester, Torino and Stuttgart have all been linked with him previously. He is a 20 year old, Turkish full International, left wing back, very good on the ball and has very good delivery but is a bit physically weak at the moment according to my half Turkish mate who is up with all things football in Turkey.... That makes him sound a bit like Gill to me so not sure how much there is in this unless we're planning on bringing in a similar player for less money thus generating some funds?
That being said links out of Turkey are often not based on much in the way of actual reality.
Your suggestion isn't one Conte would be remotely interested in, so are you saying we'll be changing manager? If we really want to challenge for the big trophies and are sticking with Conte and his 3-4-3 then we definitely need players to go straight into the first team at RWB, LCB, CM. Why would we have no money? Since we’ve moved in to the stadium we’ve spent about 75m net each season, what is changing in the next couple of years (other than a Covid free, full stadium) that means we’ll have less money, let alone no money? If we really want to challenge for the big trophies and are sticking with Conte and his 3-4-3 then we definitely need players to go straight into the first team at RWB, LCB, CM.
