Im not sure Mourihos style has changed that drastically, its more likely he just doesnt need a certified DM in Spain, where its a requirement in the English game.

I thought his Chelsea team were fantastic to watch. They played with patience - introducing the philosophy (here) that when you have the ball you "rest" and the other team works. Played fantastic strategies and dominated games - it wasnt as direct as Kd likes to make out IMO.

Swap out Makelele for Alonso and is his best Chelsea team so different to Madrid now?

Indeed.

He must feel such a prize cúnt when a picture like that then magically surfaces

Indeed. It's beautiful.

I do think these guys have some sort of contact where they hear things from time to time. But I think because of that, their head may grow too big from all the tweets fawning over them for more info, and they decide to get too big for their boots and start trying to stake claims that aren't true. For him to categorically state that AVB is not in a hotel talking to Hulk, and then have the photo come out and prove it is true, is utterly hilarious.

Either he was fed wrong info, so his contact doesn't always know everything and therefore nothing they really say can be taken with any certainty beyond a cursory glance of interest, or he simply tried to make a stand and show how important he was and failed miserably.

Either way, funny to see.

He didn't think he was "the man" while in charge at Chelsea though, did he?

The last official valuation - in Aug 11 - of Moutinho put his 'worth' as being €17.775m; €6.775m (+62%) up from his last transfer fee of €11m in July 2010. If you apply the same increase, then he's only worth €28.779m - not €40m.

€40m is a LOT of money Steff. If he flopped in England, then who's seriously going to pay €40m to buy him back? No-one; in fact I'd say we'd be lucky to recoup €20m. For the money being quoted, I seriously wouldn't touch Moutinho with a ten-foot bargepole.

where did you get the official valuation figures from?

Mate i'm not saying they were not fantastic to watch but they played different types of midfielders and didn't need a creative luka type to play nice effective football.

You say swap Makelele and alonso as if it's not that big a deal and i agree with that but the way Brain is talking it's as if AVB can only implement the EXACT same formation and personnel (in terms of playing style) as he's done before and that's the scary part. Mourinho is a master because he can change things depending on the club he's with and the type of players they have.

Modric and the Euro boys are back for training today iirc

gives AVB one last crack to convince the Croat to stay

Whenever I've seen Hulk I've thought that he's vastly over-rated

£15m player if you ask me, nothing like the vast sums which are often quoted for him

Glad that the rumours are now being rubbished

great story from Spurs community.....

Ooh, this sounds like a chance to (re)tell my Enzo Scifo story... what do you mean, you've all heard it a thousand times? Bloody sod ya. There'll be some kids who haven't. And, besides, a story worth telling once is worth telling twice (or several hundred times)...

Back in the Sugar days I was fortunate to be in the Directors Box for a game when Big Al was chatting with John Motson, recalling days gone by... (not to be treated as verbatim but the gist is very much in tact) "I had that Enzo Scifo here... cracking player. We really wanted him. We were sat down around the table, his agent, him, me... and then he gets a call from his missus. She doesn't want to come to London. He puts down the pen, walks out, we never see him again."

There is just one example of a 9/10 (even a 10/10, really) turning into a 0/10 in the space of 12 seconds, let alone 12 hours. So, do I think it's possible? Oh yes
.

thick bastard...should have checked with his missus before him and his agent and his neighbour and his pet bloody poodle came to spurs...#-o

you know what women are like, change their bloody minds all the time.....she probably agreed before he left home, and he being the nice guy that he is gave her a final call to make sure and she bottled it
