*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Watford ***

It's strange then that our best performance under him came when he was forced to select a few players outside of that core group
Yeah and nothing to do with Liverpool missing their two main CBs and whole first choice CMs of course….

That was my point as was referring to the poster referring to the next game, which is Chelsea. I agree we need to have a more progressive team from the off in these games and in the case of Southampton certainly on the hour mark after withstanding their early press and reduction to 10 men - or any occasion when we start with this approach and it’s obviously not working. Can always bring on the safety net of a defensive midfielder when ahead and the counter opens up as teams chase the game too.

Sorry, yep, I was agreeing with you.

Really sets the stage for the crucial first half of January. Cup games with Chelsea (2) and Morecambe, then two vital league matches against Arsenal and Chelsea. Only two back of fourf now with two games in hand.

I hate this stat. It's an anomaly of the fixture list and the fact we've had a lot of home games and the people buying into it will be the first to jump on the bandwagon if he loses 2 or 3 on the bounce.

He's improved us hugely, he's a top manager and I love him but that stat is worthless.

The 0-0 draw at Sourf'ampton felt like a defeat.

I thought that too, maybe Conte didn’t like the open nature of that game, even though I’d argue Liverpool will have chances against any set up?

Yeah that Liverpool side was still the best we have come up against though wasn't it?

Keita and Milner what a pair of nobodies
Keita who does not do a defensive shift, Milner who doesn’t start anymore and the person you of course fail to mention a 17 year old kid in their CM. And NDombele touched the ball about 20 times, if he is the player you seem to think he is he would be dictating the midfield. West Ham and Leicester have both beat them when they had stronger midfields than that. As for other games West Ham midfield was far stronger, and as for others those midfields have been playing regularly together and are well drilled which can be more difficult than some makeshift Liverpool midfield.

Waste of energy complaining about whenever he doesn’t play, he’s not fancied - was obvious ages ago…..

If you think it's a waste of energy discussing it don't waste my time responding then

I wonder if the timing of these selections is no coincidence with us being in the transfer window now.
100%
He doesn’t fancy Tanguy and he has said he a midfielder so he wants him replaced
Anyone who hasn’t had a start in the last 3 games and wasn’t signed recently is gone IMO

Does Conte want creative midfielders? Kessie doesn't sound like one and he's the only midfielder we seem to be getting linked to

In the 5 players in CM and upfront he had Hazard and Pedro at Chelsea, and Eriksen and Barella at Inter. So he does play creative players when he trusts them

He doesn’t care the type of player as long as they play his way
His issue today was we didn’t take the chances we created again
It’s what he said in his post match chat on BBC
I think he will be frustrated that his attacking options are so limited. He has one striker, 2 second strikers (if we call son and Moura that) and has to shoe horn Bergwein in as a striker
Everywhere else he does have options. Yes ones that can be improved but options none the less, apart from up top
