Next Manager?

Maybe he wasn’t number one, but one of several we wanted to talk too
I’d never trust anything from Romano though
He is the master of reporting stuff after the fact as new news

"He is the master of reporting stuff after the fact as new news"

Well, it is new news!

The only reasons this feels like a blow are (i) the criticality of this summer and getting the transfer window 'right' and (ii) the number of alternatives which don't look that appealling compared to the number which do.

I'm trying to console myself with the fact that Alastair Gold has said a couple times that hte board are aware of the need to appoint a manager who plays exciting and attacking football, plus the fact that Poch was somewhat picked out of nowhere.

Would be bloody nice to have it sorted

"I don't want to rule out that that could have happened, but I know what I have here. I know who I am working with, I know what the ideas are, I know what goals we have. I’m happy here. That's where my head and heart are at."

So if we did talk and then walked away. What was said that he didn't like? Answers on a postcard please.

Can the mods please autocorrect every word to derp? I'd like to log in to read 'derp derp derp derp derp...'
To which everyone else is responding 'derp derp derp derp...'

so where does that leave us?

Rodgers
Potter
Allegri

Would they now be considered top 3 options? I still cannot see Rodgers coming, completely forgot we'd need to buy his contract out too, would cost us well over £20m in total to secure him.

Think Potter is the one for me. Get him to bring Bissouma along too.

I was going to say that if you count Rodgers still in, then you also count Ten Hag still in....however if Fabrizio Romano's comments are right that we ended talks with Ten Hag, then agree that that might not be the case. I don't know how Rodgers would get done before the end of the season though, given the fixture list.

I think there is a good chance which Levy comes up with a name which the journos are missing. Some people on the last few pages have thrown out names which aren't on journos lists - like the manager of River Plate, the Monaco guy, Favre and a couple others. Poch wasnt a big name when he came in, Jol was a wild-card and came in as Santini's assistant...but we need another like that it feels

Its a bit concerning though...pressure on Danny boy. He was right to fire Jose IMO, but now the far harder part. Ragnick/Potter combo as DoF/manager?

Its possible, but given Jose was only sacked 11 days ago and speculation about ETH to SPurs came up in the last week, plus the fact that he only had a year left, I suspect that these negotiations were already in progress
If Ten Haag had any interest in the Spurs job he wouldn't have signed a new deal at Ajax. Mendes comments about the job at Spurs being 'complicated' have been brushed over on here, but I don't think many manager's with good reputations will want our job at the moment.

Now I think it's more likely that he's off the table.

And the quote from Romano suggests we spoke to him, we walked away and then he signed the deal. Who knows what the truth is, but seems he's not our guy
