Time to not be brick for once and bring home the year's supply of brain altering energy drink, that I assume is the prize.

And in honour of Yermiyahu, a bit of Google acceptable custard action, coupled with hugely unlikely score prediction:

1-5 (we're the away team).

Think an interesting tweak would be to move Son to the right to keep him away from Walker and get him targeting one of their weaker spots, as we have in the past iirc.

Big decision on Bale. Big decision on going for physicality with Sissoko, steady with Winks or more expansive with Ndombele and/or Lo Celso. A lot of options for Mason at least, but some tough calls for him to make.

Not really a Moura fan but he's been playing well in the central role so would go with him

------------------------Lloris--------------------------

---Aurier-------Toby-----------Dier-------Reguilon---

-----------------Hojbjerg------Ndombele-------------

------Lo Celso-----------Moura-------------Son-----

---------------------------Kane-------------------------

Why aren't people selecting Bale to start? Shades of the selection mistake made before the CL Final?

He must surely be the first name on the team sheet. I expect Harry to be keep in reserve to scare the bejesus out of them if and when necessary. Not sure if NDummy deserves to start either and Lamela has almost always disappointed when starting games.

So I would go:

............................Lloris...............................

Aurier...........Toby .......Dier...............Reggie

.....................PEH...Winks...Lo Celso.....................

........................Lucas/Dele/NDummy...............

..........................Bale......Son.........................

While I am not sold on LoCelso, he is better than the alternatives there (ie Sissoko)

Our major dilemma is who to select in the No 10 role. I would probably go with Lucas as he has shown some promise there recently (though not on Wednesday).

NDummy can only be played further forward as he is a liability in the CM two and leaves Holberg far too exposed. He has been really poor recently and gives the ball away far too easily. I am not convinced he will ever be PL ready.

-------------Lloris
Aurier ---- Toby --Rodon -- Reguilon
--------- Hojbjerg (with instructions to man mark de Bruyne if playing)
Lo Celso -------Winks-------Lamela
-------------Bale------------
------------------Son-----------

Subs to come on:
Kane if fit/Ndombele (for Winks)/Dele (Bale)

For myself, its a marginal call. Based on this season, he's not performed more often than he has performed, and he offers little/nothing defensively.

I feel that with Bale there is more upside but also more downside than GLC/Lamela etc, and I'd go for the safer option for this weekend

Marginal call though

See @Spur of the moment 's post in the Soton thread. Bales goal per minute is outstanding. Imo We simply can't afford to leave him out even if Kane is fully fit to start.

I have a cunning plan to beat City. Bearing in mind they have a CL semi-final against PSG just 72 hours later, we have to start really phyiscal against them. Right from the start, we need to see if their players are really up for it, or will be trying to protect themselves for the semifinal. Come on Spurs, Let's do this.

edit - unfortunately this strategy requires power from our team. Power we now sadly lack. Compare the power of this current side with the Poch pomp team:

Lloris v Llloris.................draw
Aurier v Walker................loss
Toby v Prime Toby.............loss
Dier v Prime Verts.............loss
Regi v Prime Rose..............loss
PEH v Wanyama................loss
Ndombele v Dembele.........loss
LoCelso v Eriksen..............maybe win
Son v Son.......................draw
Kane v Prime Kane............loss
Bale v Prime Deli...............loss

It is so easy to see where we have regressed. Our current team lacks the power to overcome our rivals. Too many of our players (Regi, Ndombele, LoCelso, Son) are just far too easy to knock off the ball. Until we get some real power again down our spine we will continue to struggle.

I am terrified if I am honest Bill. Yeah we have nothing to lose but nonetheless it's difficult going into a final with that mindset because part of you always hopes that we will upset the odds.
