You do realise the transfer window is not yet open. :?:

yes but it hasnt stopped Hazard joining Chelsea, Podolski joining Arse. Deals can always get done before the window opens. The only stipulation is that those players bought before are not allowed to officially play a game before the window opens

From WIKI:

In England, the transfer window formally opens on 1 July, transfers between clubs in the same association can take place as soon as the last competitive fixtures for the season have been played. However, many transfers will not be completed until 1 July because many players' contracts expire on 30 June.

My point was it closes 2 months after the date that its open.

Everyone knows Tottenham do not do deals that early, only if the deal 100% suit Levy's stance would it, yet we always get the same posts from impatient posters and people always saying like you have above.

Levy needs to develop a bit of urgency imo

'The New New Manager Thread'

Has AVB been sacked already?

no, he was offered the job, he took it, then he found out that Levy still wanted to talk to 20 more managers even though AVB was already in place, AVB got upset, Levy said stop being a wuss, AVB's ego took offence to being called a wuss, and so he then decided to resign

so now we need a new new manager....comprende??

I find it really difficult to understand why anyone would consider AVB, he may have had some success in a poor league, but he failed dramatically in Engalnd. I can not see any evidence at all to suggest he could do a good job for Spurs.

Most important thing, I can remember that suicidal high line he played at Chelsea, the man is a fool.

It's a good tactic if you have the players for it, which we do as Walker, Kaboul and Benny are all lightning quick.

You don't even need fast players. You need smart defenders, who are very well drilled. It makes me chuckle that they call it high line defending and try to make out it is a new thing. When I was younger we simply called it the offside trap, and that lot down the road were the masters at it!

Some post in the transfer thread suggests AVB is a done deal but cant be announced til 1 Jul due to his agreement with the chavs

hmm - Im sure we could announce the deal regardless of that deal with Chelsea just as long as he doesn't start work till that specific date

Interesting. Maybe it is the small print that is keeping the deal from being announced.

Hypothetically if this was true then maybe AVB is already involved in the transfer dealings behind the scheme.

Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has admitted he would welcome the arrival of Andre Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane.

Villas-Boas, 34, who was dismissed by Chelsea in March, has been linked with the vacant managerial position at Spurs ever since Harry Redknapp was sacked by chairman Daniel Levy earlier this month.

And the Italian believes the chance to take the post at the North London club would be too good an opportunity to turn down for the former Porto coach.

"I think it would be good for him," Cudicini told Sky Sports Italia. "I also think it would be a good opportunity for him to grow as a coach.

"Tottenham are a great team and he could learn a lot here."
Important

However, the 38-year-old shot-stopper also claimed he would welcome the likes of former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez or ex-England head coach Fabio Capello to Spurs.

"(Rafa) Benitiez did very well in England as coach of Liverpool and he knows English football very well," said Cudicini.

"However, it's obvious that many names have been brought up because Tottenham are one of the most important Premier League clubs."

And Cudicini told Radio Kiss Kiss on Thursday: "(Fabio) Capello to Tottenham would make me very happy

"I played under him at AC Milan when I was young and he won so much with the senior team. He would bring experience and knowledge into the side."

At the price that AvB is you would be nuts not to lay him to get your stake back at the very least.

My personal feelings is that with what happened at Liverpool the exact same thing is happening here in terms of the media creating a fav, formed from looking at MB voting.

Dangerous game IMO

Saying that, someone is definatley looking to stop the price from drifting. Whether its someone that knows something or a bookie hedging off its something we will not know. Personally if it is one individual, I'd sure like to know who it is, because its ultimatley nothing short of insider dealing.
Take the news the other day regarding Blanc, it drifted from 1.3 to 1.6 then someone came in and started backing it with large chunks back down again (remember against the breaking news), purposely putting larger blockers up to stop it drifting thus creating a uthoria of belief that he had 100% got the gig. As I said, I sure would like to know whether the individual has anything to do with the football club.
