for me the only benefit of the Europa league would be that the second 11 would get regular game time keeping them game sharp and fit

Top six and a FA Cup final should be our aim now.
Bringing back the 'Ropa.

I think this is relevant to this thread

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ppeal-uefa-ban-court-of-arbitration-for-sport
"If the process is concluded by early summer, as City’s chief executive, Ferran Soriano, has said he hopes for, then City will be excluded from the next two seasons’ Champions League competitions if the ban is upheld. If the process is not concluded by the time next season’s Uefa competitions start, City will be clear to play in 2020-21, then if upheld by Cas, the ban will take effect for the following two seasons."

UEFA competitions start in early June.

The likelihood is only 4th place will get CL next season.

Never fear, all, that great artist of punditry Chris Sutton has had his say. As I’m sure you can all imagine, it is insightful, intelligent and shrewd to such an extent that this thread can close with the end of this post:

Sutton: "Yes, Spurs have got injury problems but I don't agree with the way Jose Mourinho has dealt with them.
"Has he got a point, blaming all their problems on being without the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min? No.
"This Mourinho, who is throwing his toys out of the pram, is the one I think a lot of people thought we would see at Spurs, so it is not a surprise.
"Of course it is not ideal to lose your star striker and his main back-up but they have still got lots of quality in their squad.
"Rather than moan, Mourinho's job is to get the best out of the other players in his squad - but he is not doing that at the moment.
"I am going to rule them out, for him being so mopey."

You’re welcome.

Having said that, this Wolves game is huge. Scum and Wolves are well within overtaking positions of us.

Win this and we're two points from top 4.

Win our next two matches and we’ll be fourth.

Chelsea will have a game in hand against Everton. Utd game in hand against City.

If we were playing well we’d easily catch them. Still in our own hands, but can we come up with some good performances?

My hope is that we're not more than 3 points from 4th by the time we play Sheff Utd at the start of April, given that I reckon Kane will be back then

Our next two after Wolves are Burnley away and Man U at home, which are tough. We have the advantage tmrw that Wolves played on Thurs night so we need to capitalise on that and go at them, not sit back. Really need to win tmrw
