Jose Mourinho - SACKED

Said to my mates top 4 by New Year’s Day

they thought I was nuts

had to highlight the Chelsea can’t keep clean sheets and hadn’t beaten anyone top half of the table. Glad to see they have carried that on

United I thought may have turned a slight corner recently but maybe not

it’s there for the taking now

Interested to see what he does with a week and some rest for the players.

Tough game today, but the defending as a unit is improving, as is our press (in first 15 to 20 minutes) and our counters.

4th in a month would be some achievement

It would indeed.

I think the most important thing is the build up of confidence and belief.

Chelsea will be up for this and though it’s a treasured joy they no longer have Eden, it’s still a considerable challenge and an opportunity to slip up if we don’t turn up.

bar Old Trafford I’m fairly pleased, pleased that Jose is getting a tune of of Mopo’s boys...

One could but wonder after 2-3 transfer windows, what a Mourinho team would look like.

his trousers in hat rain are proper filthy now as well ;)

Surely Jose must have looked at this team and think to himself, I just need to do my normal, sure up the defensive tactics, be better at set pieces and get one or two players going and ill have a good team here. IT seems to be working so far.
Is hat rain the one just before or after umbrella rain?

What Im enjoying is how deliberate things are.

Clearly we are a work in progress, and have wobbles in every game, but I also think you can see clear tactical choices in every match - designed to give us an advantage.

I was saying last week with Burnley, we played deliberately in areas they dont like to defend - and defend areas effectively where they like to play.

I thought similar of Wolves yesterday. While arguably they were dominant, they were really restricted to speculative chances and very few clear cut. While we werent at our best, at all, we were in the game at the end and in a frame of mind to actually go and win it.

I think this comes directly from Mourinho, its him to a T.

And, I think, how good can we get once he has us properly tuned up and purring?

Its why he wins BIG games
He knows where teams make mistakes and has built his philosophy and style around that
Other managers have their tactical and team dynamic approach. Mou has that but targets errors as the biggest opportunity

I think they are already under a bit of pressure.
We can probably trust Mourinho to turn the screw.

The wheels were always going to come off at some point. With such a young team, its inevitable.

Equally, Lampard is still really a rookie manager and learning himself.

I think Chelsea are there to be beaten, and I think Mourinho is exactly the sort of guy who would know how to do it.

Im also very happy he actually has a full week to work with the players, I think it could be a bit of a game changer.

All that said, Im much more "cautiously optimistic" than in any way expectant.

Chelsea are a very dangerous team, pacey, skilful, and being young able to be bold and a bit "hyper".

While they arent in form now, a derby might be just the thing to fire them up and get them going again...
