Jose Mourinho - SACKED

Can anyone prove me wrong with my thinking that Mourinho doesn’t improve players? Under Pochettino many of our players made names for themselves, and improved, but I’m not sure the same will happen with Mourinho. I mean which United players improved significantly thanks to Mourinho’s leadership and coaching? How about at his other pre ious clubs...
Jose improves players, but those players just have to have a strong will and willingness to work his way. Those that don't are those that fail him, they often maybe coincidentally the more mercurial flair type players.

Mourinho can't work with modern players.
You might as well be saying these thing about Brian Clough.
Mourinho didn't improve anyone at United. He is now a dinosaur like Souness on the Sky couch complaining about haircuts and selfies in the dressing room.
He was a great man manager of players like Lampard who were pretty much the same generation as him.

Watch this and thing he can work with our squad

Have to say I'm not particularly aware of him, but what I'm reading is incredibly impressive.

The second article I linked is long, but worth reading, he's basically Levy's soulmate.

Speaking to L’Équipe, José Mourinho discussed the incredible success of Lille’s de-facto Sporting Director Luis Campos.

How do you perceive him?

He is a great professional who is arriving at the peak of his powers. His skill-set is very complete. He was manager, notably. He has accumulated experience at all levels. He profits from this. He is very intelligent and, also, available 24/7. He lives, eats and thinks football. He has made a connection with the club, manager and the financial aims of Lille. A team is not an accumulation of players. It is a puzzle which you have to put together. He has found this role which he likes a lot. He does not want to become a manager again. He wants to be the best Sporting Director possible. He is achieving his dream in the sense that he is doing the job that he had always hoped to do.

You came to Lille twice last season. What do you think of his work?

I came to Lille and I will come back because I am friends with the two Portuguese guys who work at Lille and with Luis Campos. I also have an excellent relationship with Christophe (Galtier). What I have seen was very positive. At Lille, it was as if I was at home. I was with my friends watching all their work. I am truly happy to come to Lille.

In what sense is Luis Campos the modern recruiter?

I know a lot of recruiters. I am not going to make a comparison with others. I am not going to say that Luis is the best. But I can say that he is a great Sporting Director. I speak often with him. I know his ways of work. He works an enormous amount. One day, I speak to him on the phone. He is in Chile. Two days later, I call him and he is in Argentina. He is a fantastic professional

Don't get it twisted I'm not pro Jose, but I won't lie about what I perceive just because I'm not a fan of his. I've said it on here before the appointment I believe he's yesterday's man. I said to friends before he got the United job that I thought he was finished. He clearly lost a step after the Real Madrid job.

That's odd... Mourinho loves workrate, pace, power, destroying the opposition's plan. His first aim is to stop the opposition, I think Sissoko fits that bill. A bit of a Lukaku figure.
But he also likes people to not give it away at the end.
I think short term he'll use Sissoko effectively as a squad players / tactical change. And he'll be off in the summer.

I spent last night going through all his squads. Do the same - you'll see.
Less so perhaps at Inter and Real - but that wasn't his task there, although there are a few.
At Chelsea, it's a very big list. Whether it's improvement or getting the best out of someone is impossible to know - but very few of his signings were world beaters when he signed them.
Look at what Solomon Kalou, Damien Duff and Shaun Wright-Phillips won under mourinho.

I suppose the way to look at it is that if it clicks with Mourinho we know what he can achieve and essentially the sky is the limit, what the likelihood of it all clicking is anyone's guess.

A rejuvenated Mourinho after a year away from the game to rethink his approach could be a good thing if he finds his mojo

Okay. 24 hours on (almost).

What a surprise that was last night when we got in from the cinema.

Pochettino paid the price for the poor run. It couldn't carry on, otherwise we were in big trouble. What he has done for Tottenham has been amazing and I am sure every single Spurs fan will be grateful. I for one never thought I would see us in a European Cup/Champions league final, but unfortunately something was clearly not right behind the scenes. Will it ever come out?? Who knows.

Onto Mourinho. I have never been one to class him as 'The Special One' but if he can bring a trophy or two to or club, he truly will have earned that title. This season might be a stretch too far, but dont forget next season, once it ends, the year ends in One...

I agree with you but then I remember he played Felliani a hell of a lot at United. [emoji52]
