Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

We’re not, we are changing the laws directly associated with applying that tech because it is effectively faulty.

It cannot be trusted in certain scenarios due to the fames issue, so if its to be used it must have a tolerance directly associated with where it is faulty imo.

We are, we have already changed the handball rule because of it.

Tech should be there to assist with the current rules, not make new ones.

If it can’t be trusted it needs binning

Whatever the criticism regarding the spending and rightly so we imo still have the third and at worst fourth best squad in the league, and we should be expecting to reach the quarter finals of the champions league with what we have, we re not going to challenge for the league unless City or Liverpool implode, and like last season with a bit of luck we could progress further in the champions league.

What’s concerning with our form and performances of the last year is it’s all self inflicted by bad tactical and team selections, I love the man and I feel like brick even thinking about criticising him never mind contemplating wanting him out but there reaches a point where the head has to come out of the sand and you have to ask serious questions about what’s going on.

So he’s offside under the rules in place?

He was offside under the rules as soon as I saw the first replay while they farted around for two minutes I knew it was getting disallowed, but going back to the City goal it went our way but if you take the bias aside yes according to the rules it was the correct decision but it was equally as flimflam as yesterday, I said this at the time, both are nonsense pedantic rules that will suck the soul and passion out of the sport, for me with regards the offside if it’s so close you need to start putting lines on the screen it should be a goal, it needs to be reserved to clear and obvious just like their goal yesterday.

It's clear to me they changed the way handball is treated purely to make it easier to VAR. Frame-by-frame video can't demonstrate intent, but it can (within the limitations imposed by frame rate) convince on the fact of contact between ball and hand or arm. Ergo, intent has to be removed from the equation and all we have to do is get the micrometers out again. The whole thing is a steaming pile of shíte.

Anyone hoping for the frame-rate limitation to be recognised and allowed for will be disappointed though, IMO. They'll carry on ignoring it, and pretending the tech is fit for purpose, because football fans are obviously too stupid to understand concepts like tolerance and margin of error and just want "certainty". That's assuming they even understand why it's an issue themselves.

MP's happy with it, though (to bring this back on-topic).

Sacking Poch talk is madness this is our first REAL slump since he has been here, because for what he has done for us in that time he deserves to be given a bit of slack by some fans. That is the trouble with some fans as soon as we hit a dodgy period they start questioning the managers ability and wanting a change.

Travelling up and down the country every week i am not happy with what i am watching but talk about he has reached the end is MADNESS ( imo).

Now if fans want the end to that farce called VAR then i would agree totally, its fudging killing the game at games and it needs scrapping.

I want to make something clear first in that I don’t want him sacked but just to play devils advocate you have to ask the questions of what’s going on and what do you class a slump? It’s been a full year of awful performances it just took about four months for results to catch up, and then when they did the champions league run/moving back home papered over the cracks.

In term of replacing him there are two very different answers, the current moody and stroppy Poch who is making bad team selections and tactical decisions is not hard to replace and improve on to be blunt, the old Poch of a year ago, no chance the only person right now I would even consider if he would come would be Allergi, but my opinion and I’m sure practically every single fan’s preference would be too have the old Poch back unquestionably.

Do not disagree with some of that and as i say i am not happy with our form like most others. So i will try and respond to your points.

It has not been a good year on the pitch ( compered to ones that went before) but there are several reasons ( many already stated in this thread).

(1) We have had a lot of bad luck with the amount of injurys/illness that we have suffered in the last season and now this one. I know all teams have injurys but i really can not remember a season when we have had as many as we suffered this last 8 months or so, add to that the illness problems with Dier.

( 2 ) we have also had to play a lot of away games before moving into our new home, now some will say it should not effect players performances but it does and it has ( imo).

(3) As for Poch being moody well he is not the only one, there has been a lot of bitching/moaning by a lot of fans as well and i am sure he is not happy either with what is happening so if we have a right to be moody then maybe he has that right as well.

(4) I also think a lot of fans have put far to much into some of his press conferences and what he has said, as i said earlier fans are no different for any team that suffers bad runs and always look for examples where things are going wrong and more often then not read things that are not always there.

(5) As for replacing him, i think that is far to early to think about doing that ( as i say it the first real bad run we have had since he has been here), but as i said elsewhere IF that was to happen i am sure there will be a few top managers who would be interested in taking our great club on.

Fans are mainly tinkle and wind and Pochettino is a highly paid professional, what he says and thinks is far more important and the two cannot be compared.

Of course what he says is what matters, but fans can and have got managers sacked in the past by losing any sense of reality.

There is some good points in there firstly regarding the fans, the fans are reacting to on pitch performances, he is our leader, it’s one of his jobs to set the example and the mood around the whole club that includes players and fans alike.

But here is the thing I think this may actually be on this same page it’s what I said earlier we have the third best squad in the league, at absolute worst fourth, even with taking the injuries into account it does not explain his bad team and tactical selections, there is a stat in the Leicester topic posted last night from our last 17 games we have 19 points, over the course of a season it averages out to 42-43 points, and in the cold light day we can make as many excuses as we like the performances we are putting that’s about right, watching us is currently like watching a basketball game except most of what we do is slow and lethargic.

I think his tactics are to fit in the players he likes as much as anything
The squad is set up so much for a 4-2-3-1 team but having 3 CMs he really likes makes that a problem

Then he should carry himself better, it's his job to lead. Sulk in private and in public instill belief.

If you're constantly talking aboutt leaving you're leaving yourself open for your commitment to be questioned. Especially when your performance and focus appears to have waned.

I agree but basically when you boil it down poor team selection is leading to poor tactics which is leading to poor performances = bad results.

As hard as it is to admit and again I don’t want him gone who is blame?

Which is why he can’t really demand loyalty from his players.
