Paulo Dybala

I don't see why a loan deal would be so hard. Just fudging write a goddamn contract stating this and that and fudging do it already. We'll buy him in January for whatever amount they want. Deal done. Come on. I should have this job. :p

yeah so should I.. but were'd be skint.

I knew it was all gonad*s when he played that friendly last night. Would Levy really allow a club record transfer play in a meaningless friendly and risk getting injured the night before transfer deadline day?

Hilarious how Jansen is being offered as an example of depth.

Llorente only played because we had so many injuries at AM. If we had that pool of players fit Son would have covered and Llorente get splinters.

And Wanyama, 13 appearances last season totally 509 miinutes.

Pretty sure we can lose these guys without even noticing.

Deadline day appears to be getting to some people...

It is because of the dearth that you listed above that we have not improved on that concerns me. Not good enough to seriously challenge for title which leaves us in a similar state this season when compared to the top 2. There comes a time when making top 4 is not enough for some of our best players and they will want to move on.

And as for Llorente, suffice to say without him there would have been no Cl final last season, and I am not even a big fan

Very true around Llorente helping us to get to the final. Have to say he was awful vs city but got that goal, but was great vs Ajax

I’d argue it’s an exceptional window as we would have got ALL our planned targets

Getting Dybala is a luck and timing thing, no more than that (like when we got VDV)

Maybe so, but are we really stronger when compared to the start of last season when you consider may very well lose Eriksen and we are and there appears to be a problem at right back.

Ive long been of the view that we dont replace Eriksen. Just cant be done.

Instead, more likely IMO, we change up formation. Go 4-3-3 for example with Lo Celso and NDombele making things happen rather than playing an explicit playmaker...

Thats fair.

How ever you wish to replace him, it wouldnt have been done with the deals so far.

Compared to the start of last season, definitely if we sign Le Celso and Sess. Last year we had no pre-season, and players that hadn't had a break for years. We're now fully rested and prepared, with two/three more options in midfield, how is that anything but stronger.

Don’t worry mate, some people just can’t handle “the window”!! I’m in full agreement with you.

Our Midfield is 100% stronger

But we would still be an option or 2 down up front - Sess might be the answer to that of course.

Yes we are
We have an improved midfield
We have youth that has shown talent and ability
We have shifted some dead wood
And so far we haven’t lost a first 11 starter
And if we lose eriksen we have replaced him with Le Celso... that’s forward planning and something we never used to do
Sessegnon is also an additional attacking player that isn’t returning to his old club that we know of.

Our Midfield is 400% stronger

Son was missing start of last season wasn't he? Plus the boy Parrott is there. I'd take them two being available over Jansen and Llorente.

Right back you can spin it whatever way you like. I still have memories of Trippier playing square balls to the other team so my view is biased.

Of course we are stronger, like you say not just because of the signings but because our players are far more rested then they were last year. No matter what we do there will always be a couple who think we have not done enough.

Went to sleep feeling like a kid at Christmas, woke up to this gonad*s.

The optimist in me (he's usually drowned out by the other voices) still thinks there is a chance because we haven't announced GLC and Sessegnon officially.

The pessimist in me thinks they're waiting to just before, or bang on 5pm to announce the other two so it's clear they'll be the only two!

So near...yet so far.

A real shame it could have signaled our intent. And on paper he'd have been a good fit. More direct than Eriksen.

I think it did signal our intent
And also a lack of planning from Juve rather than us
Why would they hawk him round and then say nah... we need cover

Who knows. It always seemed a bit of stretch. But seemed viable if they took Eriksen. The cost of Dybala offset by about £70m for not selling Eriksen. That could make Dyala paletable to DL.

This is all based on CE leaving BTW

Alli is starting this season on the side lines.

Right back, I want Serge to be given a go so it doesnt really bother me, unless there was a better option
